Oh, you mean the one that the "Ivan"-badge is attached onto?

Hmm...I think it was bought-installed by my refinishing-guy, and that he, later on, painted (with Ivan's custom blue) the edges of it. I don't think it cost much either. Yeah, it looks nice - especially on shinny days, hehe! :)
You got it! Thats the one I was talking about....your car is spectacular! One question though...I see you made it into MAX POWER Magazine....now, we know that that magazine is known for the nice cars, but it is also known for the nice ladies as well! Where are the nice ladies draped all over your car?!?!?!? ;)

Eerr...ok...I'll be totally honest, and will give you the short version of the story...:

I was married back then. With a very, and I mean *VERY* jealous lady!...

...I think this answers you question! (lol!)...:p

Don't take it to seriously. Stolle loves to jump into everyones Rigz threads and piss all over them.

Anything 350+ whp out of a Zetec is impressive. Anything North of 500+ is astounding.

Well done.
hell yea i do! gotta keep everyone in check! otherwise we'd all end up gay with each other sipping tea and crumpets all damn day talking about how nice and wonderful everyones neon lights and body kits, and HUGE park bench wings are. (im not stabbing at ivan. its a clean kit on the car im talking about the R34 fiberglass kits unpainted white on cars with bondo all over them and 16 BAJILLION neons they bought at autozone on clearence.

surprised no ones mentioned Ferdinando's 6xxwhp car in FL. the dirty south sure does it big with turbo Foci.

Fair answer....

Alex, did you say you had the 1.6 running at 270bhp?? Thats awesome - How exactly did you get that much power?

@ Hocky:

lol @ the most horsepower in the world claim.
Said most powerful / modified 2.0 Focus based on a Zetec-E engine. *Big* difference! ;)

@ Lee1188:

With the Zetec-SE engine installed (1.6)Ivan yielded 325hp (around 280 bwp I assume). You can check the car's progress at posts #6 & #7 in this post. The "how" part ain't a secret either: Excellent programming, a good turbo, and most of the under-bonnet stuff I have even now.

6xx hp or whp? Where can I check that car btw?

As a general note:

Pardon my "skepticism", but I have come across many ppl claiming all sorts of stuff about their focis over these years, and from all over the world. But when it comes in showing their mod-lists or, even worse, their dynos they either...disappear, or "they don't have it handy atm, but I'll get back to you with a pm", or "can't give ya ma list - it's a secret!" (!), and all sorts of similar answers. Fortunately, or not, modding claims must be based on solid data (dynos), and not on speculation! Otherwise we'd all drive...rockets or somethin'-lol! :p:D

I am having several business appointments with various airbrush painters this whole week. Hopefully, I will choose the "right one" to complete my 2 remaining airbrush themes on Ivan: One on the trunk, and one on the rear-left door. Most probably these will finish sometime around September, due to the fact that most businesses close for summer vacations on August ("dead season" and all)...

...Apart from that, I am continuing the gathering of material related to Ivan's history over all these years, so a relevant video-clip will be created and released sometime before x"-mass. For that, I have asked for some professional help, cause I am quite a noob when it comes in cameras, video-editing, and the like! :bang::rolleyes:

gimme a sec here...

Why do wallet racers always want to claim non-existing horsepower records? :-\ The car makes some power, that's cool, leave it at that. Don't people build to drive any more?

To whom are you reffering?

There are ppl who mod cars and don't drive 'em you mean? I guess there are some of those too, but I don't believe they are the majority in any case...

P.S.: Cheers for the link Stolle - will give it a proper read soon enough!

Andreas even managed to install the first *in-car* ATM in da world would you believe!! Yeap!...It was one of those cold days that I was penniless after I cleared too many modding bills that were accumulated. "Wouldn't it be great if I had my own personal bank in ma car?!" I told him in one of my visits to his workplace. "...Imagine if it could loan me some cash - without interest too!" "A...magic ATM of some sort, huh!" he replied, just before bursting into laughs! "Hell yeah!"..."Hmmm...Let's see what I can do!...":

[Well, ok, it wasn't *really* an ATM, but just a slot for my - then - turbo timer-lol!...It would be an awesome idea though *if* it could be realized, don't ya think?! :arr:]
I just read your caption. But before I did I thought:
This car has this guy so well trained he puts in money directly before he drives it.

Honestly a daily driver i'm sure it's not...the power is very impressive...I really like the color...not sure about the fender flares....:/ Never been much into airbrush i think it makes a ride kinda cheap..but look at all the lowriders...airbrush isn't cheap. Over-all it's impressive and different...

All i know is someone had DEEP pockets!!

You're right!
Beauty is in the eye of the beer-holder! And it would take a case of beer before that car even started to look good. Some guys think fat chicks are hot, doesn't make it true! :) The body kit is way too much, looks like a late 90s early 00s modified civic exploded all over it!

As far as backing it up, time slips from the strip would be a start! Maybe be get it on the track and see what sort of times it can do in any sort of motorsports arena.... Autox, time attack, hillclimbs, top speed... You know the real world translation of a fast and powerful car!
Otherwise it's just a dyno queen.... And one that is not pleasing to the eye in the least!

Cheers!
1) I prefer the stacked and thin (or at least with normal curves) ladies, so subconsciously I chose a...fat (?) body-kit with my car...Damn, what was I thinkin'?!...I should start some sessions with a therapist right away!...

2) Like I said before: Somethin' *you* feel it's "too much" doesn't necessarily make it a true statement. Look it that way if you will: Most cars that appear in shows in the States look like ridiculous (to say the least) or - at best - "too much" for the average European guy (appearance-wise). Some ppl like their rides to move around "unnoticed", others don't. The whole issue is kinda subjective you see...

3) As far as the track times at all these competitions you mentioned: Yes, you would be totally right if this was a race / track car - but it *isn't*. IF you had read this thread more carefully you would have known by now that it is used for everyday purposes / transportation. The fact that it weighs around 1.600 Kg *clearly* portrays that! If I had a 2nd car for my daily needs, sure - I'd turn Ivan to a "track-monster" and put him on..."severe diet" (and then I'd...immigrate to some place else, cause we don't have tracks here like the ones you have over there). But since this is not the case, I'll just have to...settle for the..."dyno queen award" I guess!!!...Hell, I ain't even a professional racer would you believe...

P.S.: I am plain curious here: What do *you* drive btw? Have you created a project car yourself? I'd like to see it if you have! I respect ppl having opposite opinions in *any* matter really, but just attacking someone (without being provoked before) is plain rude.

Airbrush is a subjective topic really - Some ppl love it, others hate it. The same stands true for all exterior (to begin with) modifications I guess, since these are the first that make a (positive or negative) "first impression". You are right about them being not cheap though. And they demand talented artists and lots of time for the right result.

As far as the last comment is concerned: I've heard that quite a lot, and it's understandable up to a point. The answer is pretty obvious though, if you think about it: If I *really* had "deep pockets" I would:

a) Finish the whole project like a.s.a.p., and not after nearly 6 *years* from the day I started it!

b) I would buy some serious wheels from the beginning (from Porsche, Audi, Nissan - u name it) and build a project with a *way* better "starting platform"!

So, no, the...depth of my pockets is limited more or less. But I do make savings, and invest to whatever mods i see as needed / desirable. Besides, car-tuning is one of the few hobbies left in my life nowadays (primarily due to health reasons), and I try to enjoy it as much as I can!...

...............................................................................................................

Alright folks, it's time to calm down and leave the expletives at home.

It's a Focus, it's modified heavily and the owner is understandably proud.

Let's leave it at that, save to say, "Long live the Ford Focus!"
Contrary to what some ppl might think, I don't believe that Focus' are..."supercars" or that all the other brands are inferior etc. The truth is that when I bought this car it was the best thing that I could get my hands on back then. When the dream of buying something *really* good / more powerful slowly died as years passed by (for reasons that are off-topic for this discussion), I decided to build my "dream car" slowly with what I had in my hands. And the only things I am proud of (concerning this car) are the following:

a) That I managed to "visualize" what I had in mind all these years

b) That the only pocket that "bled" all these years was mine, and mine alone. No fancy sponsors, no nothing!

c) That I achieved all that not at U.K., Japan, or the U.S.A. (to name some) but in...Greece: A God-forsaken place that lacks the technology, resources, options (and...and...and) that the above-stated countries can offer to their native-modders!

P.S.: I truly hope that Ford will one day break its chains, and abandon its conservatism regarding creation of more powerful engines at (or below) the 2.000cc range!

................................................................................................................

Thanks for the other comments as well. Have fun, and keep modding!

Health reason's?? Ya look pretty healthy in the pic's.....:) Either way the car is different....thats what makes controversy between so many...I was once accused of deep pockets... but it took me 10 years to build my 4X4 but i spent around $30,000 on it. But with 2 boys now my pockets stay empty...:)
