Re: B**** A** Build Thread Version 3.0: This Time With Moar Buildier and Less Crappi

God. I love it! Low, but functional. Not something people in the stance game generally go for. Kudos to you! Definitely might steal your set-up when i comes time for coilovers for me.
You're not gonna want to copy my 15" setup, they've got 185s on them and they still don't fit. The 16s will take a LOT of work to fit, but it is definitely possible. Be prepared for days of fender work.

Thanks agin for all your kind words.

Whenever someone thinks good fitment on 16's is easily attainable. Matt and I be over here like..

I'm beginning to really burn through zipties keeping this stupid front lip on. I've thought about removing it, but that's mroe effort than I care to sink into something so insignificant. The FauxcusSport piece is going back on in the spring anyway.

It's confirmed, I will be starting off yet another year with a new set of wheels. Don't fret, the Type Bs are sticking around, I'm just giving them a break from daily duties so I can take my time with properly refinishing them before I mount some sticky tires.

Now I just need to look into anodizing the hardware for the "new" wheels...

This thread has been deprived of pictures lately. Here are a few of it out and about through the late winter and early spring, as well as the new passenger's side engine mount and degas cover after installation at Ray's house. Yes, both fog lights are missing. If you've ever underestimated CT orads, you need to think again. They were both knocked out by frost heaves. I've ordered new DEPO OEM-style replacements with PIAA plasma yellow bulbs.

Still shines up pretty well for a 9-year-old car that hasn't been waxed in over a year.

The new OEM mount has made it feel like a brand new car.

Thanks for resealing my driveway with your front tires, Matty boy.

I do what I can for the community. I'm surprised it actually left a decent amount of rubber. Any pics?

Re: B**** A** Build Thread Version 3.0: This Time With Moar Buildier and Less Crappi

Matt, how are you liking those front springs? 624lb/in? I'm helping a Focus ST owner out with his H&R kit and he's having issues with the car feeling bouncy over dips in the road, uneven pavement, etc. with the coils near bottomed-out in the front. Was that your catalyst for the upgraded springs?

My catalyst was reducing body roll as much as possible without a front swaybar. My front spring rates are 571 lbs/in. I'm trying to keep the inside front planted during corner exit. If he feels the car is bouncy, he's either got blown struts (unlikely) or he's an idiot.

I've seen a few other guys with the same complaints on the Mk3. I wonder with the extra weight if these dampers are up to the task. I know the Mk1 kit uses 400lb front springs...the Mk3 kit is progressive.

Any issues at all with those springs feeling under-dampened?

MK1 kit is also progressive, it averages to 400 (I'm pretty sure, at least). I can't imagine the ST kit hasn't been beefed up beyond the MK1 kit. That would be a massive oversight.

I haven't had any issues with that, even in the rear (those are the 672s).

Yeah, I can't find the rates anywhere for the Mk3 kit. Although, you're running stiffer springs than I am now (500F and 650R).
