Valve Cover Heat Coating?

Would coating the valve cover in anything help lower engine heat? If so, what would that anything be? Thanks.

i dunno...in my car, the heat doesn't really come from the valve cover. i can touch it within a few minutes after the car is off. its hot, but not burning. all your underhood heat is coming from your exhaust manifold/headers.

I would assume that if anything, it would raise the heat because it would make it harder for heat to escape. What you need to cool it is something like a heatsink to increase surface area. If you have a plastic valve cover your heat should dissipate pretty quickly though.

Being as how its plastic... I tend to think that the amount of heat off of there is negligible.

Its the Exhaust Headers that have the most heat!
