I just got a set of new wheels, and I realized that they have a 40offset. They don't stick out or anything, they are just a bit to wide. So, what are my options if I want to lower my car? Can I get a widebody kit and then lower my car, if so, what are my widebody options? Or can I just go to a certain body shop and have my fendars flared out a little bit. Please help me out.

The saleen III kit is a widebody kit right...? I think that it only comes out an inch wider or so, that sounds like it would be okay right? How much would it cost to have the fenders rolled out a little? Just give a ballpark figure if anyone knows. Thanks.

you can lower your car with a 40mm offset wheel. my buddy has eibach sportlines(2.0"/2.5") with a 40mm offset wheel and he doesn't rub unless he goes over big dips in the highway or turns really hard. but if you want to get a widebody, you're looking at $1K.

Okay, well...If I look straight down from over the fender, I can see a bit of tire, and the fender itself is 1/4" thick at the bottom, so if I drop it 1.6" w/ the APEX kit I already have(not installed), I can tell that it will tear up my tires. Jptech2004--How wide are his wheels and tires? I have 215/45/ZR17. The wheels are Konig Imagines 17x7.

17x7 with 205/45/17. looks can be deceiving. even though that is a big tire, you should be ok. only time you will rub is when you have passenger in the car and you turn or when going over big dips in the highway. you can roll the fenders yourself about a 1/4" to give you a little more room.

grab the fender and pull on it...it will move out about 1/4". you should be ok in the back.

what we did for one guy with a civic was get a wooden baseball bat and fit it between the tire and the fender and just roll it over the tire. It (the bat) should push the fender out and do it evenly enought that there won't be any metal creases.

I'll get some pics as an example maybe tonight if I have time

What you have to understand is that civics are not as complex as foci...nor as good looking..please do it professionally!!

can't give you an approximate cost because shops differ by area, but they can only pull it out so far. no more than you can do by hand. getting a 1/4" by hand is about all you can get. next option is getting fender flares. you should lower your car first before you do anything else.

Damn Jptech2004, you must be bored at work just like me. I appreciate the help, I get off at 3:00, I'll try to pull them out then, and I let you know how it looks.
