Here's what I did.I just had my first drag race last night,so I'm no expert. But these changes dropped my reaction times,1/4 times and increased my mph.
>When the second yellow lights punch it.The time difference between the second yellow and the green is .400 of a second.Try it during your trial runs.If you trip the red it's no biggie.
>Don't worry about the guy next to you.Focus(
)on what you and your car are doing.
>I started out shifting at 5000rpm and had poor mph and 1/4 times.By waiting till 6000rpm,I picked up almost 5mph and 1 second off the 1/4.
>If you are running w/ big heavy aftermarket rims, ditch them for the stock rims.I was one of the few people that kept aftermarket rims on.I won't be doing that next time.
>I have the Fidanza,so I have to have the revs up really high on the launch(5-6k).What to do w/ the stock flywheel?Dunno.
>Remove everything nonessential to the drag run.ie- spare tire, floormats, jack, etc.
>Don't forget to bring the essentials to the track.two rope(just in case),chairs(you'll be there a while between races),water, food, toolkits, floorjack, electrical tape, gas can.you get the idea.
>MOST IMPORTANT.A POSITIVE ATTITUDE!!!!!!!This is a ridiculous amount of fun for the money(i pay $20 entrance fee)
>Oh yeah, when you get your dial in time if you think you can do better lowball it.Go for @ .300 lower.Trust me it can mean the difference between going on to the next round or going home. That's how I won my first race, and why I lost my second. There's a ton of other stuff, but I regularly get flamed when I try to help.So I'll sign off now.
