Bought my car about 3 months ago, do I need to take it in for a flash or update?
Do I need to take my SVT in to reflash the ECU?

I just got off the phone with SVT and they say there is no update for the ECU, yet. They said that they are still trying to get the program certified. I don't know how other SVT owners recieved this code but SVT says there is no update.

I WISH I KNEW! My dealer refuses to do anything without a recall and has suggested a couple of times that i am crazy. Either way i dunno how but this is what SVT said when i called their 1800 # sorry I can't be more helpful.

You will have to give a reason for your ecu needing reflashed, poor gas mileage, surging at 3k rpms, cold start high rpms, etc something and mention that some of your friends or the people you have talked to on the internet have solved these issues by getting their ecu flashed with the new software.
Everyone who is worried should verify if they need to worrry ..
listen .. there are currently only 2 public programs available by svt ..

you can verify your program by looking in the passenger door on a sticker ..
if it says RLA1 then u need to get a flash .. the dealership will write a 2 on the 1 when it's flashed .. they write over it with a black marker

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Not necessarily. The RLA2 program was being used on the late model 02 SVT's yes but it didn't solve the problems we were having with the surging and cold starts. SVT has been working on a new program to get rid of the problems. The program should debut within a week or 2 after we hear Job1 for the 03's has been completed and the dealers get it.
