Well I glad it fixed yours because mine has RLA2 and has those surging, cold start, and stumbling between 2000-3000 RPMs. So why isn't mine fixed, if RLA2 program fixed all these problems?

Hey guys

I looked on my passenger door frame, door, looked everywhere and did not find any sticker with RLA1 or 2. Where might that sticker be?

Mine races when its cold and surges some at around 3K...no big deal but want the update when it's available. My dealer service manager who is a regional SVTOA advisor and a high performance car guy had no knowledge of any pending ECU updates.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">If you open the passenger side door, its actually not on the door, but on the frame (going towards the engine) near where the door connects to the frame. If its not there, then you might be able to do the gauge test thingy and pull the version out of that (not sure though).

Yeah the sticker on my car is near the upper hinge.

I have RLA2 - and it will rev at 3k if I don't let it idle for about 15 seconds after start up. It will do the loopy idle, and if I don't drive off right away - it's fine. It's only if I try to take off within a less than 10 seconds of idling.

I'm so confuzed

We have paid to be the ~ Test Pilots ~ for FORD, but their instructions are not clear to many.

Some say they know ? Some say they have contacted "SVT" with solutions to the many problems encountered with their cars, but this information is not disseminated to the dealer service departments & tech's.

What we have is a failure to communicate!

Maybe we can get an "SVT Headquarters Tech assigned to this forum to answer the many un-answered questions. FORD ? Are you listening ? Are you reading our post? Or are you doing something else in Mexico ? Smoke those tires

I also noticed the SVT 5-door at the Detroit auto show (NAIAS) had a higher MPG rating than our 2002s. Unfortunately, I can't remember the exact figures

, but I think it was 22 city and 26 or 28 highway. It was definitely better than the 21/25 we are supposed to get. I asked the guy at SVT if it is due to the new ECU code and he didn't know.

Is it possible this kind of improvement could be due to the new code and what does it mean for performance? Is there anything we can assume (increase or decrease in power) from higher mileage figures?

I have horrible surging... with the alumimnum flywheel, you get audible evidence of the rough idle and surging issue!!!
I also only get 20-21 mpg on my car. Now if I do only freeway it jumps to about 24ish.. but usually I drive ONLY street, and I NEVER get more than 21-22 mpg. I really hope this new ECU upgrade fixed the idle and surging!!

Thanks for the phone call slick

I talked to Ford SVT today, they said the new program is scheduled to be out on the 31st of Jan and that they are finalizing it right now and getting it approved. They told me to call and verify it did get released before contacting your dealer.

Ok so we have a new PCM module coming out, as well as a re-designed DSI.

Anyone thing we'll get any crap from the dealer trying to get these in our SVT's?

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">I don't see an issue with the ECU. You just tell them that the car runs like crap and they should fix it.

The intake on the other hand will probably be a diff story. If it aint broke, don't fix it is the attitude dealers will probably take.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Should have jumped up there and checked the "RLA" code.

I've got rla2 and haven't had any problems, except that you have to let it idle for a couple of minutes or its totally undriveable
