Ok i have tryed to fold down the rear seats but the alwayse hit the center console am i doing something wrong?

Have you removed the headrests? You have to do that before the seats will fold all the way down. If you are talking about that part of the seat you sit on, it will hit the center console and stay somewhat upright, then the back folds down from there.

Yeah I have been wondering this. It appears you take the bottom part out and fold the rear seats foward right? But doesn't the bottom part require unbolting to do this?

No, the bottom just flips up. It is on hinges. You can see the hinges on the front of the seat on the carpet. After you flip up the seat and remove the headrests, the back area will be flat, and very large. Unfortunately, you cannot flip up the back seat 60/40, it is all or nothing, which is not great if you are trying to travel with three persons and half of the seat flipped, but it is still servicable.

I'll have to look when I get to my car tonight, but I'd swear that both the backs and seat bottoms are split 60-40. Maybe the ZX3 is one piece and the SVT is split??

i do it all the time too. works like a champ. although the larger seat hitting the center thing (i refuse to call it a console. the radio/climate control area is a console) rather annoying. especially when carrying large objects and it's pushing up against my seat.

on a side note, anyone know the size of the torx bolt on rear seat? i have a t-30 but it doesn't seem big enough.

um, wrong. You can put one side of the back seat down and leave the other side up. We do it all the time.

Just an FYI - putting down at least the 40% part of the seat makes the subwoffer in the audiophile stereo sound *much* better. with the seat up, the low bass comes through but the mid bass gets sucked up. The hole in the sound makes the sub sound very disconnected from the music

ok, but will the seats that fold down go flat or will they always hit the console? mine seem to always hit the console and yes i take the headrests out.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Well slap me with a very silly fish indeed. It is split (had to walk out to my car to check it out.) Not sure why I thought it was solid, I have used it once to dispose of my Christmas tree (which leaves a smell that rivals new car smell for goodness.)

Didn't know about the holes for the headrests though. I didn't notice them before either.

First RLA6, now the whole back seat thing. It's sorta like waiting for work to end, thinking it's 3:55, when it's really 4:55 and your buddy asks, "working late?" And you go (with a Conan O face), "HUH?"

This car just gets better and better.
