Re: It\'s Alive.......!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am not using anything for fm right now. I am only running 5psi. When I go up to 7psi there is a booster pump that was sent with my kit. I have a superchip but it was installed before the SC went in.

Unless I am mistaken we have 16lb injectors and they will not suport the power you are putting out at 5psi. You are at risk of running lean, better get that thing dynoed at a place with a wideband fuel/ratio monitor. Also, the booster pump? what is it exactly? Just a higher flow fuel pump?

Re: It\'s Alive.......!!!!!!!!!!!!

uh oh. I thought SCSPI had a A/F guage. coulda sworn I saw one.

Re: It\'s Alive.......!!!!!!!!!!!!

um...I would personally be scared to drive that without some sort of fuel solution.

It scares me to even think that you are doing that right now.

you need bigger injectors or a stand-alone...or something.

16lb injectors and about 170fwhp is not going to last too long.

Re: It\'s Alive.......!!!!!!!!!!!!

i honestly doubt that he is getting 170 WHP at 5 psi.
And I remember that Ken with the 98 escort with the turbo was running four-five with no fuel or ignition upgrades at all. I wish that guy was still around. anyway, CrankOr (from ERDT) Just got his SPI turbo dynoed (ZXtuner Dyno day in Cali) and he made 111 WHP on four psi and an upgraded fuel pump. Oh but the torque number was like 143? very nice tq. # . So I would say it is less than 170. prolly more like 120. It could be more with an SC though. not sure how much difference no spool-up time would make.

Re: It\'s Alive.......!!!!!!!!!!!!

is that a m62?

HOLY **** DUDE, thats amazing that you made it work...is that a kit actually made for the spi???

WTF?

How come there isnt an m62 for the zetec still?

Thats impressive man

BUT PLEASE, and i mean PLEASE, check out the a/f, injector duty cycle as soon as possible, or you WILL end up like many people on here with blown engines

Seriously man, its no joke, too many people on here strap on blowers, n2o, and turbos without ever caring to check...with stock fuel management, you are walking a very fine line, and a booster pump will do NOTHING on your car, its a returnless fuel system, you need to calibrate the mafs to know what to do, otherwise it wiill confuse itself and still blow up...

Re: It\'s Alive.......!!!!!!!!!!!!

Naz is straight and to the point....
Get that **** on t3h dyno soooon!!

Re: It\'s Alive.......!!!!!!!!!!!!

My car is not running lean at all, at least that is what my air/fuel gauge is saying. It runs real good. No problems with deto or anything like that.

Re: It\'s Alive.......!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have heard that the booster pump is the exact same thing that the Jackson Racing kit uses for fuel mgt. I am not sure though. If not what do they use? Do you think if I used the same kind of system it would work?

Re: It\'s Alive.......!!!!!!!!!!!!

JR does not use a pump of any kind.

They use a black box, which is an electronic control unit that intercepts the signal voltage from the MAF and sends more fuel accrodingly, it assures the the MAF does not reach 5v cut.

A boost pump, unless used in conjunction with a MAF signal will be worthless, it will boost fuel pressure to the point of 100% duty cycle with no solution to 5v MAF cut.

If you are still running a Superchip, that is increasing your timing and reducing fuel, which is a disastorous proposition for a car equipped with FI.

You are going to need more than a 'boost-a-pump' to sort out your fueling issues.

Start looking around for an Electromotive or Pectel to sort all this out if you don't want to deal with a MIC package.

And remember, never trust an A/F gauge unless it is properly calibrated with a Wideband - All it is out of the box is a pretty dancing light show.

Keep us posted.
