Ok.. I still want some more info on this MIC thing for my custom turbo setup.

Would a 75MM Mass Air sensor, 96 lbs or bigger injectors ,Walbro 255LPH fuel pump and a custom tuned setup by Lidio or Mike the Chip man do the job??

I plan on running about 15-20 PSI for about 275-300 WHP everyday and bump it up to about 25 PSI at 325+WHP for the 1/4 every now and then..

I am hoping those boost levels are ok.. since I will be swapping out the rods and pistons, for an Eagle Rod..J/E 8.5:1 forged piston combo..

{sigh}

While I've heard great things about lidio. I doubt lidio is going to be up on doing an auto chip since mike has been MIC'ing foci for much longer and isn't finished with the software yet.

About the rest, you may want to try asking tom or searching this forum. Maybe you could even click on this link that I found in about 5 seconds of searching. http://www.focaljet.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=49;t=001417;p=2#000046

Have fun buddy.

Dude... you've got an auto and you want to run that much power?!?! Good luck!

Your best bet would be to ditch the 4F27E and get an AX4N or something, try to make that fit. Cause damn...

Actually, the CD4E should be an easy-ish swap.

I don't think there's ANYTHING you can do to the 4F27E to make it handle that power.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">It is not Mike (TheChipguy) making changes to the Autologic software to program for automatic Foci. It's Mike Wesley (creator of Autologic) that is working on the automatic program.

I could be wrong (don't think so though). But, the updates are not under TheChipguy's control, or Lidio for that matter. Lidio will be able to tune automatic cars as easily as TheChipguy once Mike Wesley resleases the software upgrade.

Actually... I think the lion's share of the work is in the hands of the tuner.

My understanding is Mike Wesley just creates the software to "communicate" with the computer, and sells that to the tuners.

It's up to the tuners to go into each and every memory location, and figure out from trial and error what that memory location is controlling. You'd open up a location, and see just a bunch of numbers. You change them to see what happens.

So, the success of a given tuner is directly related to how much time they spend playing with all the different codes.

This is why tuners don't like to give a chip to somebody who is going to have it read by another tuner, because then the second tuner is able to just read the memory locations and what they do, and it's like "stealing work". Because the second tuner now got the knowledge of the first, without having to do the work.

That is my understanding.

I believe this is why Lidio couldn't change the injector size specification with the chip, but ChipGuy can. Lidio just never found that location.

Again... I'm no expert, I think that's how it works.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">For further elaboration:
The Focus Automatic Transmission can only handle 270 hp at the crank, after that, it's a matter of time before slippage. You'd probably need the whole level 10 package to beef up the tranny.

No. That is incorrect.

The 4F27E was designed for 270 ft-lbs of input torque at the input shaft. That mean, after the torque converter. The torque converter multiplies the torque by 2. You do the math.

You can bump up that torque rating by changing some of the clutch material, but I doubt you'll ever get it to handle that kind of power.
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">doh! I knew I was forgetting something!

It doesn't matter. I don't think it will ever take that power. You could have unobtanium clutches in that thing to hold all the power you want, but then you'll be shearing shafts and gears. You can't get past the fact that you are DOUBLING the torque rating of the tranny.
