Still gets a big

from me anyway, if just for the fact that it's in the planning stages.

Finally people are realizing its a fake.

It may look nothing like the picture at all. I also wouldn't put much faith in the "stats" as the picture is a fake, who is saying the numbers arent as well?

For those that haven't noticed, there is a horsepower war going on in the automotive industry in many segments.

In this economy, companies are realizing that to sell cars, they have to begin offering cars make people want to open their wallets.

That's why I say never say never. I can remember when people said the WRX would NEVER come to the US. Then the same with the STi (and EVO).

The past does not ALWAYS predict the future.

Yeah the Escort Cossie was not to come state side but a good bunch found thier way here. I wiould import one formyself as well. I have always wanted a cossie once I seen the Escort. the engine is out of this world in the Escort. upgradeable to 500+ hp AWD to keep is somewhat driveable.....

the Focus body style is a great match for a NEW COSSIE to rule the WRC and the roads.

In response to V's repeated posts of this car being a fake: so what?

It is all about the fact that Ford IS going to produce a Cosworth version of the Focus, even if the launch of the Focus RS is a farce.

Magazines publish computer rendered images all the time. Yes, it is probably "photoshopped": a mix of a Focus RS with a Mondeo hood and a 2004 Focus nose. It is an example of how the 2005 Ford Focus Cosworth MIGHT look like when it is put into production.

You're just jealous!

Well yes I am but....I was also jealous of the RS and that still isnt reality. I will believe this car is for real when it is for sale in Europe. Not when there is a bad rendering of it and not even when there are a few prototypes running around.

The very busy launch scheme of European Ford models is the reason why RS is postponed. Just look at all the new models that Ford has put in production the last months: Mondeo TDCi 130 bhp, Focus TDCi 115bhp, New Commercial Vehicle Range, Focus ST170, Mondeo ST220, New Fiesta.

Besides, launching the ST170 after the RS would have been a mistake.

The RS will come, but as always with FMC, late!

Do you really believe that? You don't think that they've had several problems developing the car which has caused the delay?

That is a chop, not even a good one...

The headlights were stolen from here:

The front wheel is not at the same angle as the tire

The hood scoop is also at a diffent angle
with a dark outline around it.

Then there is the obvious fact that it used to be this:

Gotta love HID's....
