You guys realize this is some 16 yr old kid having a wet dream. No offence to any 16 yr olds out there, I haven't heard any of you shaying s**t like this. He has broken the laws of physics here. P-51 back me up on this, most modern thin wall blocks won't take a 40 thou overbore, will they? Will a Zetec block? Also, he didn't read far enough into the mags he's been abusing himself to. By the way, Im not dogging you. Im always interested in ways to build more reliable horse power. If I can run 13.5 to 1 compression with a turbo pushing 28LBs of boost, and a nice phat 250 shot of nitrous....IM THERE. It can be done, but I dont work for Cosworth,,,by the way is behind my company in Torrance.
 
I just say calm down everyone. If he runs it (if it is for real of course) we will see where he stands. If it's a fake, we prolly won't hear from him anytime soon about 1320 times. Hey, he coulda calibrated the G-Tech wrong.

but I hear ya. This does sound bogus since no one else is running anything even close to these numbers.

Instead of telling someone they're full of crap, just ask them to prove it. If the guy (or kid, whatever, lol) can't post some pics of the setup or have a trusted board memeber see the car and vouch for it, etc. then they can have their little "wet dream" (very nice way to put it OutaFocus, hehe).

I don't know nearly enough about SCs and NOS to comment on the physics (or lack thereof) of this setup, but if the techie people of the board are calling this car a pipedream...well, that tells me something.

Are these #s even possible with a Focus (with the appropriate reinforcing work of course)? I think the "fastest import in Canada" (street legal) is some RX-7 running something like 10.48 if I remember right, and it must be modded to hell. I don't know anything about that car, I just remember reading about it at the dyno I went to. Can a wee Focus ever hope to approach that? Doubtful...

Well I just went and looked at one of our spare Zetec blocks and there is definitely enough meat to go 40 over. And then some.

Dave Coleman will be stopping by the shop tomorrow, so I'll ask him if he knows about this car and let you know what he has to say about all of this.

Naz - if you were talking to this guy face to face i bet we'd a seen a nice sock in the nose to someone. I am a little disappointed in the way some of you handled this guy...and if its true..well than I think appologies are in order.

I remember this kid named Jack Mullins who, in sixth grade said to us that he could ollie his skate board like 4 feet high...needless to say...we beat him up....for the next 3 years. Better make damn sure you are telling the truth... I (nor the jet apparently) take kindly to liars..

I think P-51 said it best, err well he didn't say much, but you get what I mean. I can understand it if the car hit high 12's, but not 11s. In order for a Focus with, what 2600lbs. to carry, to hit 11s with take a significant amount of power. It would have to be over 400hp. Now if he shaved some weight it's a little more possible.

But that's not what get's to me. What I don't understand is how this upgraded, yet basically stock ECU is controlling this violent mixture of fuel, boost, timing, high compression and nitrous to work in such a way as to hit 11s? Are you guys saying that he's running the stock MAF? What size injectors is he running? And I would rather have more boost, than more compression on a street driven car any day! it's these little things. Sheesh, why get a pectel, when the stock ecu can get you into the 11s?! I mean if you were a good turner, you can squeeze as much hp as possible out of the stock bottom end. But in order to do that, you also need a flexible system. Something the stock ecu alone cannot provide. As much as everybody here, I would love to believe it. But right now, I'll just sit back and wait and see. And no, we're not jealous, we're skeptical!

well, i think we should still give him a chance, i think throwing the post out and throwing him out is a bit much. Anyway, we are all waiting for this misterious SCC mag....i agree, i am dissapointed in the way this was handled. If its true, than my apologies go out to hocus. But its just not too beliavable, those mods dont even all go together. Now he says he does have rods/pistons and a warmed over block. This wasnt said before. Its just too much stuff for 3700 focaljet members to never know anything about until now. hmmmmm.....i dont know

I want something to be clear. I banned him not because he said he runs 11 (which has to be B.S. unless he's running a tube frame with a NuFormz 35 pound carbon-fiber shell that looks like a focus (See Shaun Carlson's Meguiar's Ford Focus) unless he has some massive power under the hood I don't believe him.) I was staying out of that battle.

He was banned for editing his post after finding out his foul language was ****'d out.

Honestly, I'd love to see a 100% street legal Focus running 11's on drag radials. But let's be honest... those numbers are Lingenfelter Corvette territory.

I would like to see his car in real life (and him in real life so I can smack him upside the head for his 'tude problem). I really hope that Dave Coleman can confirm it.

Also this guy has no real proof. He even said himself he used a g-tech. I'd bet I could make it think I had bags of power to spare if I dialed in my focus' weight at 7 tuns.

I want to see a dyno slip and a drag race slip if he spouts numbers off.

Again though, this wasn't about his numbers. It was about his attitude and his foul mouth, and his need to edit his posts to he could get his words out.
 
The only reason why this guy pissed off the jet was b/c u guys pissed him off.I am not saying this b/c i hate all u guys and everyone else here and lookin to get banned i am just expressing my opinion but u guys did take it a little harsh on him.If this was true what would all u guys say? You would be kickin yourself in the ass i know i would be.I don't believe or disbelieve anything until it's proven true or proven wrong.Something everyone here should do.Anything Is possible in a car.Notice how i never came in and started bashing the **** out of his car true or not true.There was been **** done to cars out thier that is totally unbelivable when u first here it and even see it but hey look it was true.This car does seem a little weird.I know due to alot of aspects but it could be possible. Next time take it easier on people on the jet and lets not just ban them like right away.I know it's your choice and i respect it but lets just take it easy and guys and settle your administrative powers down a little bit.Put the magical wonds down.Some people would say your abusing your powers because of what u did but i ain't.To sum this up all i got to say is let's just give people more of a chance to prove what they have to say then after we find out it's a load of crap then get rid of em till that time comes let's all settle down.

I banned him for blatant use of profanity. If he e-mails me and wants to be a civil little team player, then I'll be very tempted to let him come back.

I won't kick my ass for upholding protocol.

When I see his focus run 11.79 on a drag strip, I'll be like "yah I know who he is" eeh. His loss, not mine, not yours. He knew he was treading on thin ice.

Look, if you come in and tout a list of unbelievable mods with an equally unbelievable ET, you should expect to be disbelieved. I would also expect that anyone who actually HAD put that package together has run into some rather large skepticism before.

There's enough people on this board that have put huge amounts of work into their Foci and know for the most part what works, what doesn't, and why. Consequently, the tolerence for BS here is pretty low. If we all see an article next month with a spectacularly powerful, 11 second Focus, awesome. But until then, be prepared to back up outlandish claims with some measure of proof.

I think nothing less is owed to those here who actually have busted butt to reach low 14s/high 13s.

He did come across kinda loud but wouldn't you if you had the fastest focus on the board. Give the guy a chance to prove himself.......if he can't then smack him on the hand and be done with it. If he's having fun, so what......you have to admit it is entertaining.
