What kind of engine does the new RS Focus Have?

I was talking to this guy today and he said he bought a new RS block, and was going to build it up for his focus.

Is the RS even out yet? I thought it was the same block, just the internals were different.

I believe it's got a Turbo'd ZETEC in it. Not 100% sure on the block, though.

According to the latest edition of autocar magazine over here in the UK, the RS comes with a " 2.0 litre mondeo engine" ie the duratec engine, which has about 145 horses as it comes in the mondeo. The ST170 uses the zetec engine from the current focus and has 168hp, it is the equivalent to the SVT with 6sp box etc. Also its another couple of months till the rs launch, the launch has been repeatedly pushed back and I think that it will be after christmas now, maybe even febuary

see, now, why oh why, would for not bring the RS over here....Sure we geat the SVT whoopty doo, Europeans are getting some equivant to that. I mean we do have the FR200 but its not hitting production any time soon....why ford why......why torture us!

RS has a turbocharged Zetec engine.

Brochure states that eægine is a duratech, but0then states an alloy head on an iron block.........true Duratech is all alloy.

I suspect that Duratech for thm RS is ` market`ng ploy
