I think Ford needs to bring this
awsome focus RS to the U.S. The only
thing that should also be offered is
an optional 5 speed automanual with
steering wheel mounted shifter buttons.

If Ford can bring the U.S. the focus
RS I would camp out in front of a Ford dealership to buy one.

Comment: It would be a shame to not see this caliber of a performance car offered by Ford here in the US so devoid of "performance" vehicles.

Is this car going to be AWD? If not, why wouldn't I buy a Impreza WRX, since Subaru obviously thinks enough of the American market to sell a proper rally car here? I love Ford, but for that kind of money, I want a rally car, not an overpowered, torque-steering faker with Pontiac-inspired body add-ons...

Ford, you're already behind, but you got your foot in the door(of the sport compact market). Don't blow this opportunity to catch up, bring the RS to the US! Learn from history...Civic SI, Integra Type R, 200SX SE-R, Imprezza 2.5 RS. Need I say more?

I think Ford should seriously consider bringing the RS to the US. The following is already strong and the response would be incredible as long as they kept it as European as possible and relatively affordable. The RS is also a great way to show up the other car companies running around the US with nothing special to offer.

Comments: I'm about to purchase a ZX3, although I can definitely say that if there were an assurance that the RS model would soon be available for the U.S. Ford market (a market including all the Ford vehicles enthusiasts such as I), that I would wait for and purchase the RS model.
