As it was recently announced that there will be an MP3 player available with 2002 Foci, does anyone know if there is any indication that the SVT will follow suit as possibly an added starter?

Thanks,

It was "announced" on the internal Ford News system, FCN. They talked about how the 2002 Mustang and Focus will be available with "factory installed" MP3 players as an option. The Mustang Order Guide shows this, but the Focus one does not (yet). I was just wondering if anyone else heard about it.

Thanks,

The MP3 player available on 2002 Mustang is from Visteon.
2003 Focus will have a Bosch, Blaufunk (not sure about spelling)MP3 player.
BTW I don't think you can swap Mustang's MP3 into Focus. Mustang is North American size, while Focus has European size. Really not sure but heard it before.

From what I understand the Mustang Radio reads MP3's off a burned CD.

I believe all in-car MP3 players take burned CD as their media to play MP3 files.
It would be cool to use currently available memory card in in-car MP3 players. I expect SONY will make something since they try to expand their "memory stick" market.

Will the 6cd indash changer be available as a seperate option (i.e. without all those subwoofers, upgraded speakers, etc.) or only with the audiophile package?

No, it only comes as a package

The CDx6 in '02 focus is 6006 CD-radio head unit.
6 CD changer in SVT is 9006 CD-radio that has subwoofer output while 6006 doesn't have sub output.
There are also several differences in softwares and misc. features.

Does the head unit in Audiophile Package have any RCA jacks on the back of it to add a CD changer or perhaps one of those NEO Mp3 players

????????

I've never seen OEM radio having RCA jacks.
I could be wrong...

Forget MP3...will the head unit play CD-Rs?
I'd hate to spend $675 on the audiophile system and not be able to play homemade CD's...anybody have answers on this? I searched and found nothing. Is the Visteon 9006 out in another vehicle right now?

I couldn't imagine it not playing CD-Rs. Every CD player I have ever tried to use played them. I wouldn't worry too much about that.
