The bike is so that when your fuel pump or DPFE sensor goes, you have something to get you home. Probably should have been a standard option.

yah but wasn't it an extra $4000 for the dumb bike? I mean, floor mats??? Seat covers??? this is all stuff I could get myself...CHEEPER, waste of $$$ I say, but what do I know, I thought they came in like a grey too?

They were also available in green (maybe other colors too) and had a chrome tail pipe as well as a set of polished 16' wheels instead of the standard painted ones.

Only 5,000 Kona's were made and are available in Dirt Brown, CD Silver and Rainforest Green. The Focus Mountain Bike Edition includes a Ford exclusive Kona Blast bike. An integrated bolted down luggage rack and fork mount bike rack. Unique side moldings with molded in Kona logo and bike tire treads. 16-inch six spoke aluminum wheels. Heavy-duty rubber Kona floor mats, also with Kona logo and bike tire treads. Kona off road hard wear inspired seat covers. Compared to other 2000 Foci's, the Kona was fully loaded except I don't believe a moon roof was an option.

the Dirt Brown Kona in Arizona

I have a Silver Kona, i love it! It came with the rack and bike. The seats are the same as the reg ZX3 i didn't get any covers i saw mentioned. It has power locks umm cd player, Silver gauges, 16inch polished rims and Kona badges on the side moldings. Nothing special but just a little different.

Best thing about the Kona was the dirt color... I love it. The Kona was a neat edition. The rack came in handy until I completely redid the car. The bike was a good bike but since I raced mtn. bikes at the time, I had a bad-ass, still do, Trek, so I made them knock off $1500.00 & keep the bike.

Funny thing, the bike was only worth like $800 max...

don't know where the $4,000 came from sticker on the Kona listed the Kona option at $1,450. That included the 16 inch machined finish rims, (in 2000 base ZX3 came with 15 inch rims that were not the 6 spoke style)that with the $400 - $600 bike, roof rack, bike rack, seat covers, floor mats, silver gauge and cosmetic items (side molding and signage) made it a pretty good deal.

The roof rack is a nice design in terms of where it attaches to the Focus. I've used it for my bike and for carrying things home from home depot that wouldn't fit in the hatch.

I wash my seat covers in my washing machine and hang dry them about once a year, they go well with the exterior cover, and still look new. The seats themselves are very clean because they've always been covered. The seatcovers fit very tight and are more slippery, than the velor seats, which I like for sliding in and out. Plus they have several very handy pockets.

here is my KONA, no mtb or seat covers also dealer said that the bike and the accessories don't affect the value don't know whether thats true or not ?
