We've just finished up with the FocusSport Cool-Flo Race air intake for the 2.3 litre Duratec Focus. Here is the dyno:

The baseline run is bone stock. We then added the new intake and gained 8.4 HP and 6.7 ft lbs of TORQUE to the wheels per our Dynojet.

Something to note:

This test car had a previous baseline that was higher, but we later found out that the intake had been "monkeyed" with, throwing off the numbers slightly. We purchased all new intake components to go back to stock, since the "monkey business" was not 100% reversible. If you find the other dyno floating around here, disregard it, as it's not accurate anymore. So this is the proper and unmanipulated dyno for the baseline.

The FS Cool-Flo will undergo some road/track tests and will be released after said tests are complete.

Any chance of getting a picture of the intake? I want to see how you guys designed this one!

Thanks for working on parts for the 2.3l.

I'm curious as to what FC did to get much higher results. Well, we'll see which hits the market first.

I dont think they really did gain as much as they said they did..they never posted proof..they also said there car dyno'd way higher then the basline dynos that have been posted on here which avg was 126-128whp where as FC "claimed" there baseline was at 135whp..Im thinkin maybe the timing is good/bad they way the zetec was?

Good job FS freakin one of the highest gains Ive seen for just an intake!

Well, for starters, FC does not have a Dynojet, which is arguably the industry standard. Either Dynojet or Mustang IMO. Having said that, who knows how our dyno and theirs compare. In other threads it was said that FC's basline was 134 HP and 138 TQ. If those numbers are true, the dyno is way off or the car is a freak, but I've NEVER seen a baseline from FC, so we may never know. It doesn't really matter, though, I'm not here to compare, necessarily, I just thought I'd let you know what we were up to.

I know i've never owned anything from FC and never will. FS on the other hand has always seemed ot have their stuff together. I love those ITG filters you guys use too....this intake is more than just a filter replacement right? Like a long tube intake sorta? Or is it pretty similar to the old zetec one?

The FS Cool-Flo race intake for the Duratec is much different than the FS Cool-Flo for the Zetec. This kit uses mandrel bent tubing and situates the filter lower and more towards the front of the car.

Awesome! I'll probably file an order for one as soon as they are available! AEM is just going to take to long to have theirs out!

Ohhh sure..... go ahead and do these for the PZEV kids.... but us Zetec kids get the shaft on the long tube intake eh?

So how long before this thing is done. I cant wait

Thanks for showing me the dyno because im getting a focus in about 2 weeks and can choose between zetec or pzev? Now I know there are parts coming out i will look more into pzev

There will be no shortage of parts for the PZEV...dont even think about that as a factor.

I would gladly volunteer... do you have anyone that can install/dyno around Dallas/Ft. Worth?
