Are there any gains from just a flex pipe?

No, even if you have a few mods it still won't make a difference

I actually like my stock flex more because its the same diameter as my header. Don't listen to anyone who mentions bottle-necking - there's no header thats bigger than the stock flex pipe.

You are correct sir. I just contacted a few people and it is true. I know the primaries were large, but I had no idea the collectors were that big.

So, yes it is true that you can have bottlenecking with the Kam. header.
I apoligize everyone for jumping the gun on that one

i wasn't trying to call anybody out, I just wanted to be sure I had the right info. the collector size is the only reason I am planning on getting the kamikazee. so if my info was incorrect, i wanted to know.

Thanks guys. I only asked because i just got mine in the mail today and I am waiting on the rest of the exhaust and I wasn't sure if I should put it on now or just wait. I guess I will just wait until I get the exhaust. thanks for the info though.

Just wait greg. That way at least you wont have to raise the car, take it out, (maybe messing up a gasket), etc.

I put my header / high flow cat / flex on at the same time, so i dont know if the flex alone added anything...

Yeah the magnaflow should be here this week and then the header may be coming after thanksgiving. Not sure yet.

Thanks for the advice though. Did you notice an increase with your set up Demon?

Hell freakin' yeah!
I went from just the magnaflow to the JBA, FC high flow, and FC flex. (also did the prothane motor mount inserts), and it really helped. improved low end, improved mid, improved high end... (on the butt dyno anyway)

Can anyone tell me if I will get gains from a flex pipe with the fc racing header and magnaflow cat back. Does the stock flex match up okay with the header. Why would I want to go with a new flex pipe.

You should be fine. I don't know as you get any big gains, it just makes the air flow freely. I personally think the cat is the most restrictive part on the focus so if it were me i would change the cat out first.

This is true, sort of. A friend of mine, BloxZX3, has the FS 4-2-1, bosal flex, and magnaflow and he dyoned at almost 10hp more than me. At the time all I had was the Volant. The exhaust was all he had. Oh plus a short ram. So he got quite a bit of gain from his exhaust set up. I guess I would vary from car to car, but it made a big difference on his.
