anyways, I just brought my car in today to check on some powersteering fluid leakage.

It appears as though vortech bundles a low pressure steering hose that's the incorrect size? 19mm instead of 18mm? I'm not sure if they made a booboo doing the install and had to buy a new hose on short notice, or if that's what came with the kit, but it was dribbling a bit.

So they were kind enough to run out, get some better hose clamps to keep it sealed nice and tight... it's all good now (and a free fix too).

Has anyone else ran into this problem?

I couldn't really pinpoint the leak myself.. the moment I saw fluid collecting on the pressure hose, I didn't look at the low-pressure hose. I figured that since the guys made a new powersteering line, and it's the pressure hose, that it would be the one to fail... I didn't check the parts list to see about the low-pressure hose (my oversight).

But I remember seeing a lot of residue around the resevoir and smelling it.. I think it was at the reservoir end if I had to make a best guess.

either way, they clamped it at both ends to cover all the bases.
 
Actually what i am referring to is where the stock part of the line bolts to the pump itself.

You have the low pressure line going to a fitting. the fitting goes to the stock line (with a new fitting) and then into the pump.

Vortech does not provide a replacement gasket for the stock fitting into the pump, and it is easily damaged...

check there.

ah... that I was unaware of.. I'll let the shop know... my car puked it's powersteering fluid all over the place lastnight, so it's going back there today.

I guess technically, they fixed the dribble....
 
what might have happened is they replaced the stock gasket with an o ring, which didn't like the PS fluid, and it shattered it after some driving (same thing happened to me).

replaced the o ring with a gasket for an oil drain plug, and it's okay now.

more or less.
