Took the economical route with with my first modification to the ZX3. Had the rear resonator cut off yesterday. Went to a local muffler shop they cut it off, made/bent a new pipe, and put on a nice Vibrant double wall stainless steel tip for $50.00. No changes that I can feel in power, but the car has a nice low tone to it now. Going to be ordering a CAI probably in the next week or two, just don't know which one to get; "Marcy of FS". Any suggestions, advice there would be great.

Are you not going to do an exhaust system on your car is this why you cut the resonator off ? I mean yea 50$ is cheap to hear your exhaust, but that could be money twords a nice system that acually makes more HP, just my advise. Don't get me wrong i thought about doing this my self but i know later on down the road i'm gonna want a nice exhaust on there so i figure i'll save the money and enjoy the quitness while it lasts. Also there are a couple nice systems out now and a couple ones on the way just look around here on the treads ? Good luck

Yes I eventually plan on doing a cat back exhuast, but not until August at the earliest. The $50.00 was kind of free money anyway. My boss tossed me a little extra this week for the tough week we had. The extra covered the exhaust & will buy my CAI. One thing/mod at a time. Sure I could just break out the credit card, but that would not be financially prudent. I like to be able to purchase items like the exhaust & intake with money I don't have to pay back w/ interest, & won't screw up the household budget & finances.

The Marcy has shown the best gains in the dyno's so far and is a quality piece and is now powder coated.

How was it shown to have the best gains?
Oh [censored], here we go again...

Stopping any further debates here; if you choose our intake or Focus Sport's you will certainly be pleased with your purchase.

The most significant debateable difference would be that we offer powder coated finish in CD Silver, Sonic Blue, and Sangria Red, as oppsed to the polished silver ceramic coating they offer. If you want something other than silver, I'm not sure Focus Sport has anything yet.

As for power, both are good gains, and it will take a same day, same car, independent test to make any significant differences clear.

Please note that I only said so far, in regards to the dyno comment. The differences between all of the intakes are small, I can't imagine them being more than 2hp off of each other. It comes down to whatever one you like the best. There hasn't been a dyno shootout done yet, so comparisons between the various intakes really aren't 100% fair. Pick whatever one appeals the most to you. Focussport is a quality company, their intake is one piece with an ITG filter, Marcy's is 2 pieces that is powedercoated and has a K&N filter.

Hell give me all three and I'll pay for the dyno time to A/B/C them.
