The SVT is an 02, but I am new to it after my local dealer got a used one in and I grabbed it. Previously I drove an 02 ATX ZX3 and had never driven stick before. I've been on MFF's board since Feb 2002, but the more I read here, the more tech-savvy FJ seems to be over other forums, and I intend to have my techguy skills transcend into my carguy skills more and more as I perform upgrades and add mods. Two good friends of mine are SVT Cobra owning brothers and their attitude correlates with my approach and intentions with the svt focus.

I am going to have a lot of questions as time goes on, but I think they will be well informed enough to deserve answers.

For now it is my daily driver, so I don't wish to go too nuts. I want to eventually go FI, but probably not till I own a 2nd vehicle, though the JRSC seems conservative enough and it seems to make a considerable difference in the 1.5k-4k rpm range where it needs it most, though not as much in the upper ranges, plus they have the new SVT specific one that seems to alleviate some of the probs of the prev. The Quaife diff seems mandatory if I ever go FI, or even if I don't. I might get the SVT JRSC, and sell it when I go for something more involved.

From what I've been reading over here, SVT people seems to really like the ORP even though it's technically illegal, right? I think I like the FC CAI and might even consider their goofball ram-air hood just to be different.

I need four new wheels. I'd like a different shifter knob. I might do the diamond plate floormats to annoy my friends and do some aluminum trim here and there. My side-mirrors work, but have both been busted-off at some point so those might warrant a change. I replaced the terrible ebay halo projectors that came with it which were wired incorrectly. They were replaced by a pair of the TYC "blackouts" that look conservative and stock. The box suprisingly said "fast & furious" all over it. I won an OEM replacement for the missing mach sub, though I already popped in a self-wired/spliced blaupunkt MP3 player. The mains don't seem to be able to handle as much bass as my ZX3, so possibly they are different as they were supposed to go along with the sub. I am hoping there will be a way to use the MP3 player with the sub, but the outs arent crossed-over so who knows? Something can be hacked.

Besides the CAI and ORP what else is obvious? The SVT does not seem to start as happily as my ZX3. Maybe upgrade the ignition? injectors? plugs?

My favorite mod so far has been my SVT licence plate frame :p

Also, my vehicle doesn't say "focus" on it anywhere. There is one badge that says "SVT"

I should also add that I need to get a new vanity plate. I still have "K RAD 1" designating a band I quit about two years ago.

I am considering the following:
PROTMAN
JOCUS
SVTMYD (protman M.akes Y.ou D.ie is my gaming and IM battle-cry)
ASI9 1 asinine-one
FATHEAD
J RAD 1

Thats not the half of it, but the dealer is gonna fix a couple things that weren't noticed before they sold it to me. (I had to make a little noise to convince them though). I believe I still got a good deal on it. Only 22k mi. My ZX3 had almost 40k.

I had taken it in to check out why the ABS light was going on and off over bumps. They couldn't figure it out. I had left a ground loose when I removed the prev headlamps. I retightened it and its AOK :p

It was the little wad of wires that is screwed and grounded to the driver's side of the engine bay, about a foot from the headlamp. Ungrounding this seems to cause the ABS and parking brake light to come on

I think the first mod(s) you should consider are the Steeda STS and the rear engine mount. It changes the car in a very positive way.
Ditto. These mods together make the car much more fun and easier to drive. While I have a ZX3, not the SVT, I can still agree since I have these same mods for my car.

People now try to threaten me by revving their vehicles unlike before.

Aside from the time I was talking, looking at something else, being distracted by my passenger, and threw it into reverse by accident from a stop, we did keep up up with his bro's turbo passat.

I've spent quite a bit of time on this rainy day in Chicago trying to find JRSC+SVT dyno examples.

The only one I've found is on JR's site:

11k of Chicagoland $$
After I bought it, other salespersons were crying about how they had multiple people lined up to test and buy it later that evening. Luckily I had the day off.

YOINK.

Just pulled out the rewired blaupunkt MP3 player and hooked the 9006 back up with my replacement OEM sub I won off ebay (it was probably the guy who owned it before me. I got floor mats from him, too.) It makes much more bass than I expected.

The sun has come out. ZOOM!!
