I couldn't beat it for the price - just under $15 shipped. It's definitely CNC-machined from a block of billet aluminum (there isn't a seam on it), so the cost is justified. It fits the FL-2005 filter like a glove. While I don't have an oil temperature gauge, I figured since it was this cheap, who cares?

Disregard the watermark - that's the eBay seller I got it from. I had to jack his picture because I forgot to take a pic before I put it on. Installation was a snap - I didn't even have to lift the car, although some expert finagling of wires and hoses is required. I'm not too fond of the attaching method - a set screw goes through the collar and contacts the filter. While this is good enough for holding the collar on, I was a little afraid I might overtighten the set screw and puncture my filter. Other than that,

from me for a piece that is worth more than $15, even if it doesn't do anything!

Looks like an extrusion to me......

The thought hadn't even crossed my mind that it might be an extrusion...you might very well be right. Maybe next time I change my oil, I'll resurrect this thread and fill you in

Cooling fins will disipate heat buildup. However, to take the heat from the fins, you need some air flow. Thinking about where the oil filter positioned on the Focus, I don't know if there is much air movement. There could be, though, and if so, it seems like it would have an effect.

wouldn't it be more usefull in copper to dissappate heat faster then billet?

and all I think that is good for, is not needing a wrench to remove the filter b/c now there are grips on it.
