I know I saw a post on this a while back, but i was unable to find it through the search function. Anyways, I was wondering if anyone has made a seat bracket for the SVT that lowers the seat.

What do you mean, the one that the bracket sits on. It looks like the big problem is the seat height adjuster, without that it looks like the seat would be at least an inch lower, or maybe im wrong.

Well after taking some time and looking at it, I don't see a way to remove the height adjuster to drop the seat down. If the seat would have been designed without the adjuster, then that'd be a totally different story lol. To me, it looks like the bracket that attaches directly to the seat is the one that would need to be refabed to lower the seat, not the one that bolts to the floor. If you look at the set up down there, the bracket that bolts to the floor is about as far down as it can be, thanks to the shape of the floor. Which most likely explains why we don't have any easier options as of now. Theres about a 2 inch bump that the front of the bracket bolts to.

The bracket that bolts to the seat needs to be refabed sans height adjuster to get our heads out of the ceiling.

Something else to think about: It looks as if there may be a clearance issue with both the seat angle adjustment knob as well as the inner side of the seat and the console. I could be wrong but it sure looks like the lower adjustment knob will be a PITA if lowered.

My head touches the roof with the seat in the lowest possible adjusment (as I am sure many others it does too). Road racing with a helmet on was fun, as I couldn't sit up straight, nor be fully seated in the seat.

I was slouching and "slid down" a bit in the seat just to have my head looking at the road. Made hard cornering fun, hahaha.

Kinda glad I bought a car to turn into a "track only" car now. I can get seat brackets for the SE-R that lower the seat 3/4 inch, and Im ripping the headliner out in two weeks (another 1/2-3/4 inch there)
