Went to the track at the end of Nov for the last run of the year, and the only thing new to the car that I did was baught some Falken Azenis tires 215-45-16 for the front, and had my 2nd cat removed and replaced with 2.5" straight pipe. COme to find out when I had my cat back done last year the exhaust shop just slipped the 2.5" exhaust over my cat so I still had the stock exhaust diameter coming out of my cat. Let me tell you it made a world of difference, especially with the spray.

SO when I went to the track weather was favorable for the first time in a long time. temp was 58' and there was a slight crosswind instead of the usual head-wind.
Best time of the night was my first run which was a 14.4@94, and backed it up with two 14.5's I'm at a friends computer so I dont have the slip with me, but Walter at Marcy Motorsports has seen the slip for verification. My parts are listed in my sig., and I was unable to run the spray to to a problem, so it was only all motor passes that night.

Congrats!

Normally threads like this should go in the drag racing forum, but given that you're kind of our pioneer/measuring stick for performance potential from the Duratec, we can allow this to stay.

So that's cams and no cats, right?

Nice work.

Cam timing is due to the slightly bigger cams than the stockers, but they are the 100 series Marcy cams. Car is currently disassembled at Marcy Motorsport as we speak. Planning on putting some more goodies into her the next 6 weeks. Walter is working his magic! Can you say 13 sec all motor car in 6 weeks.

60' was still only a 2.3, but I had good momentum out of the hole, and my 330' was greatly improved.

Geez, imagine his et's with a sub 2 sec. 60 ft.; exponentially better...

Great Results,

Can you please list your weight (any weight reduction?), did you play with your gearing? (smaller tires?), also what was your last dyno w/o nos? I guess somewhere around 170whp?

I am trying to crack 14s in my 2.3L, I want to do it with street-like 60'. 2.299-2.4s 60'. Now I have I/E (dynoed @ ~142whp, 147whp Uncorrected) and I am sure it can go 14.999 on slicks, but I want it on street tires. My plan is to add Marcy's street cams and remove 2nd cat.

Thank you!

Add the cams and a header, removed 2nd cat and it can be done all day. It can be done with just adding a header and cam timing if you can drive real well.
