I guess this is why they call it the great debate

As far as my TB purchase goes, I bought mine b/c the '03 TB is not the same as the previous versions. I've read the how-to's and looked at pics, and mine is not "port"able like the earlier versions. For me, the FC TB was the obvious choice, and I'm not in the least bit disappointed.

Opinions are like a-holes....

It's good to read you say this. I have an '03 as well and when I looked over the DIY stock porting I noticed that all the stuff that was done to the stock pre '03 TB didn't have to be done on mine. The inside dish is already smooth.

all i can say is this. My FcTB is like this. After installation the revs hung at bout 3 grand i adjusted the screw it doesn't hang. the spring is MUCH stiffer than stock. Throttle response was great. grant it the price was pretty steep but overall i love it and i've had no problems in over a year no sticking or anything it was a bitch to learn how top drive again but it took me bout 2 days. Me too.

Here's a pic of the stock 2003 TB next to the FC 65mmTB

I was saying that the '03 TB's, as far as I can tell, are unport-able. They are totally different from the stock TB's that everyone loves to port.

if you have an '00-'02 foci: port away
if you have an '03-'04 foci: then you have to buy a "ported stocker" or the 65mm TB.

just a reminder, porting a stocker is pretty worthless. i bought a used 65mm a few days ago, i'll tell you all how i feel about it in a few days.

Even without boost the 65 is like driving a totally different car the throttle response is AMAZING. you really have to re learn how to drive your car its incredible how something that doesn't give much hp changes the character of your car

I am debating on whether to get a FC thottle body, I already have a focus trends ported manifold and a Focus trends ported throttle body (from previous owner...I didnt pay for that

) basicly will it make my car FEEL any faster? I know that the gains are slim to none but going from what i have to a 65mm FC throttle body, will there be a whoa that feels fster factor?

should have mine installed by wed.!

been back n 4th many times. even at the track. its placebo power. not til u get to really higher levels of bolt-on power (start to dig into parts below the valve cover) will u benefit from the larger bore (this compliamented by larger maf, intake tube etc). port your own TB and enjoy it. no springs to break, no 90% opening of the TB, no sticky pedal, no tricky pedal, plus 250bux for you to spend on cams or somethin else that will be of use and fun to u.

good luck

hey ult i finally get to dissagree with youi've had mine for over a year and have not had a single one of those problems not sayin they don't exist but i've never had a problem remotly like that.. .well i never checked the opening of it but still it feels good and placebo or not. idiots and dyno whores care about peak gains true drivers care bout the butt dyno
