What is a good but not too expensive stock turbo.

The only thing i have done to my cars is cam gears, underdrive pulley, short shifter, and short ram intake.

Stock turbo?

Tom who is nolonger with us (god rest his fj soul) at www.focus-power.com makes a kit that can be for low or high hp ratings, but is for deep pocket'd people

ur best bet is probably a precision turbo kit, i think mcnews had one at like 3300, but im not sure, im sure other people will chime in

Actually tom makes a stg 1 kit, but, what kind of hp are u lookin for?

Im looking for about 225-250 hp after the turbo for now just something to start out with.

where do u live, ur best bet is probably precision , they give u everything u need, u can make that hp, quick spooling

Also i looked at the gude turbos they price for 2200 but i didnt see any headers, intake manifolds, or intercooler is that extras that u have to buy or is that the way you install it.

before u get flamed, stay away from gude, OrangeZXT can tell u its not what u want, need, etc

i think they use the stock header, which is a reason why its priced as it is, ur not going to need to upgrade the intake manifold, an intercooler is an "extra" the precision kit comes with one

the precision turbo can be set for a stock engine right?

i dont know what they got for tuning over there, but precision kit comes with tuning, if u went with toms stage 1, which doenst have an intercooler u probably would either have to drive to him for tuning , or have someone in gb tune it, or send the chip back and forth from tom

i just wish i could buy the parts as i get the money but i dont know what i all need i have an idea but dont now all the sizing

yeah im pretty sure it can be, just have to make sure u dont go to high of boost or kaboomy

tunings not really a problem theres shops that can do tuning here but toms kit would probably be the cheapest right or just building one my self?

well you could DYI (theres a thread up top about DYI) but if u dont have the means to do it , ur better off not, as im sure someone else will say, u could just save ur money and wait to buy a kit, ull probably want different spark plugs and if u go over 8lbs (i think) u might wanna upgrade the fuel pump

tom does sell a "starter kit", if u want to buy as u go, and dyi, that would be a good way, he takes out all the pain work and then u can get the rest + tuning on ur own
