My buddy came over and we finished the passenger seat bracket. We used 3"x3" angle made from mild steel. The steel is really strong. We used bolts that stuck out of the existing seat bracket because they were there for our use. The new Tom Motorsport Seats bolt directly onto those brackets and the stock sliders are used. The good thing about this design is that if you like you can replace the stock seats because the factory seat bracket is unchanged, only added on to.

Re: Seat Brackets For Tom Motorsport Seats

Ha Ha. Well the only reason he's making these brackets for me is because he's doing me a favour. He's in the tool and die business and those two brackets took us 3 hours to make because of the precise measuring.

Looks good, except for the height.

The stock Focus seats are like driving a Bus, your new seats will be even higher!
Even higher is an understatement. I tried putting the passenger seat in the car and it was like 2-4" too high. Scrapping this idea and heading over to the chalkboard again!

Re: Seat Brackets For Tom Motorsport Seats

you could just weld them to the floorboard, I've thrown that idea around a few times....

Yeah, who cares if no one else can drive your car with the seats not being movable.
