im just gonna buy all the stock parts new...in terms of how much im gonna pay its still up in the air. I'm going tomorrow w my mechanic to check it out. But the dealer quoted me $7400, but he also said we can negotiate that price!

What is left in the inside? or what is taken out?

My Brothers Girlfriends dad bought an 02 with 30K for 8 grand. I dont know if I would pay 7400 for a 04 that is stripped.

welcome to FJ. these are fun cars with a lot of potential. some people have had the best of luck with theirs, while others have not been so lucky. hopefully you will fall into the previous category. you've definitely come to the right place.

Welcome to the Jet and SVT Headquarters Alex!!!

To answer your question there are no recalls on the 04's. $7400 seems fair to me however I would try to get it as cheap as possible. Welcome to the Jet and keep us posted

Well i ended up talking the guy down to to $6500. Mechanically its good but its missing a passenger seat, front bumper is cracked, it has no ignition to put the key in and looks to have about two 1 foot key marks on to sides. And obviously i need some interior parts. You can see pics here http://www.expolineauto.com/. LEmme know what u guys think.
Btw it only has approximately 9k.

I wonder what happend to it. To me it looks like it was a theft recovery deal. It looks like it needs some work. I think if it was me I would pass and try to find one that is all in one piece. The cars used are coming down and price and you can get a good one for cheap sometimes.

That car is going to need a little bit of work and you never know how much that is going to cost. It looks like all the stuff you need to replace you could do with after market except for the insturment panel. I say just look at all you options before you sign on the line!

No. Hell no. Stay away from that car. This thing obviously has issues, and was probably stolen at one point. Did he show you the title? Do you have the VIN? Get a CARFAX report on it before you take it. $6500 for a mess of a project is way too much money.

I would have to agree about staying away from it since you don't know where it has been or how it was treated. I would think for around $10-12K you could pick on up. I think once you start pricing everything out it will cost you the extra $4-5K. Not to mention that car had some nasty scratches on it.

I will say one thing it did have some interesting exhaust on it

Well i gave him 1k to hold her for me and i havent really seen any svt's in MA for that price and w such low mileage(btw it was theft i ran the VIN).
Alex sometimes great deals turn out to be a very bad investment and being that the car is a theft recovery I would suggest passing on it IMO.Keep us posted when you can.
