Re: Power Works Bower install has begun!

Sorry it took a day or so, but here are the rest of the pics. With the second day being a tech day, we took our time and wound up talking as much as wrenching.

The install could be done with the proper tools in about 10-12 hours, but I had a head and headers to do and then there was a small clearance issue with the SVT cat, but we made small work of that and fixed it. The kit was not designed for an SVT cat, so a small portion of the upper heat shield had to be cut out, not a lot, just a small bit.

Having the oil filter re-located is going to be awesome! I can now change the oil without jacking up the car, it's located now on the passenger side below the headlamp. The steel braiding does not come with the kit, it's just my own addition. There is an adapter plate on the block and there are supplied hard steel lines to come from that in order to clear the driveshaft and damper pulley. This prevents any issues with rubbing or chafing that rubber lines may have. This is then continued on with rubber lines to the filter mounting plate.

The heat exchanger is mounted behind the grille in the usual fashion. It's a pretty good size and I don't see many issues ahead with heat soak.

The cooler pump:

The blower install went well. No issues at all, the unit has a little weight to it, so bring a buddy to drop this down.

BBK throttle body (supplied with kit).

I twisted the intake tube a tad since we had plenty of clearance. If the stock location is used, there is a very nice supplied area for the filter to sit in securely. The ITG breather finlter is there only until I run out and get a tube for the breather to intake. With the intake twisted, the stock one will not reach.

The blower manifold in place, looking good!

Don't try this at home! I really have no idea what he's doing here, but it looked like a good photo op!

Kit installed and operating nicely! I'll post a little more on the install later, I need to go clean the garage and take her for a spin.

Re: Power Works Bower install has begun!

Airforce...looks sweet. What's the update?? How does it ride?? Do I need to start saving my lunch money?? You said it didn't want to fit with the SVT cat...would it fit with a hi-flo?? I think they are smaller (or is that what you have).

Re: Power Works Bower install has begun!

i'm LOVING the location of the coolant reservoir for the IC.

nice.
WERD! That is perfect and now I have an idea for my project!

The install looks awesome. Looks like this kit surpasses the oem'ness and quality of the jsrc kit and that's not easy to do!
