I've had my first Focus for about three weeks now and I'm not sure where to start, I bought an '05 ZX3S, CD silver, and 5spd. tranny. Anyway, I don't know whether to start with cosmetics or performance, so I figured that I would post something here and let other members give me their opinions. I still have the OEM 15" steel wheels with the plastic hub caps and wasn't sure if I just start by replacing them and some new tires or do I do a CAI and exhaust system. I currently have the extra money to do one or the other, but not both. Please help me decide. Thank you.

would you rather have your focus look better or perform better? I personally am more into performance than looks, so I'd say do what you can to improve the performance. Others will disagree and say to make it look better. It comes down to your goals for the car and making it what you want.

A nice set of wheel with good tires is always a good start. Looks and performance (handling).

Do the CAI. The Duratec acts like an entirely different engine once you get an intake on it.

IMO, performance first looks second. I so not have alot of knowledge of the duratec, but the first thing i did to my focus was exhuast. Amazing what it did for my car, and it sounded so much better. Eitherwasy a cai or exhuast is a good start. I recommend spending some time in the duratec forum and see what those folks recommend you do after that. Enjoy.

Since the Focus IS SUCH A GOOD CAR ALREADY, ditch the lame wheels and go for some bling.

Then do springs to drop it a little, then some mild performance stuff. It's a street-driven, transportation car after all.

Stow it old fart. Just because some people *cough* you *cough* treat it like basic transportation, doesn't mean the rest of us do.

Check out focus challenge to get an idea of some of the rest of us who treat ours more like race cars then street cars.

zspradlin,
come on down to our g2g in cbus at the end of this month. Lots of parts are made for the 00-04 focus rather then the new 05 but the aftermarket is catching up. Anyways if you want ideas we have a little of everything coming everything from wheels and what not to appearnce to forced induction. I seriously hope you can make it, if you want ideas check out a focus g2g

I had posted something about the G2G, wasn't sure if it was open to anybody or if was by invite only. I want to attend and as of right now, I do not have anything planned for that weekend. I think it would be really grreat to see what other are doing with their Foci.
