haha actually there were a number of people with chairs, they just weren't sitting in them. there was a lot to see and do, what with almost 200 cars in the lot and a bunch of sponsors showing off their wares

I brought a chair and don't think I spent 10 minutes in it until post-festivities-camping.

Was an awesome setup, but I think it'd be cool to put classed vehicles together.

And maybe one more class--pro cars. I mean come on... Teh Tribal, teh Pumpkin (did sponsor/business cars such as Tom, Powerworks and Massive show?) against the everyday car... some of those cars are built by people who can put a work order in and have the car pimped and FI'd in days. Most everyone else scrapes the bottom of the barrell to find the money to do what we do. Not to take away from FastTraxTurbo's car (it's been my wallpaper at least once!), but is it Jon's or HKS's?

Now I know the Tribal is built by Robert (and I LOVE that car...), but the paint was on it before he bought it. I dunno, maybe I should just shut my trap.

Just to clarify, both of those cars are beautiful and the owners are super-cool...not trying to offend w/ this post!

1.)I agree about the car show. I loved the Pumpkin, and Tribals car. I thought maybe when you show up, your automaticly entered into the show. So that there is more cars to clasify and judge. So you could do, Wild Hatch, Mild Hatch, Wild SVT, Mild SVT, and so on for the sedans and wagons. You know? And organize them by classes as well.

2.) A DYNO!!!! That would be awesome to have a dyno set up like saturday night after AutoX, and let people do some pulls. If you set it up for a Focus, you should be able to crack alot of cars out pretty quick. Let the dyno run into the night and have the ICE/Light show of some sort at sun down. The 5-9pm is the best time of day to do stuff like this, since it was so nice and cool out then.

3.) There was a burnout contest, you guys just missed it. LOL. I slept in the car at The Tire Rack, and saturday night, I think they were crotch rockets came through and looked @ the Ford Racing cars and some of the PowerWorks cars. And when they left, they left one heck of a cloud...LOL, this was around 11pm-midnight.

4.)I think this might be far out, but like a quarter-mile mini drag strip, I know, it might be alittle too far to reach. But just an idea.

5.)This might be alittle too far out too, but if you guys get alot of ideas, you could maybe do a 3 day weekend with Friday like a dyno day/night or something. So all the guys don't just drive down for 2 days, make it worth there while and make it a 3 day event. But that might get expensive with hotels. So maybe like a camp ground at The Tire Rack. I know that would be cool if alot more people camped at the Rack.

You know, I guess about my suggestion and yours, I forgot that they were originally going to have more classes but there didn't seem to be as much interest in the car show so they scaled it down. I completely forgot about that!

About the camping at Tire Rack: I don't think they should allow it. For the most part, there wasn't that bad of a mess at the end of JF05, but when you consider that the mess that WAS there was left by people who were there for only 8 hours a day for two days, it was a lot really. Now consider a 48 hour stay coupled w/ all the drinking AND all the cars, I think that's just tooooooo much liability. This idea can be referenced to drinking and driving, or the sponsor stuff that was left in the lots overnight.

Dyno would've been pimp!

Ohh, yeah, I think FocusSport has to come with and set up a trailer/tent.

It wouldn't be too hard to load a couple Dynopacks in a van!! that should be an easy one. If you don't find someone with the equipment by next time, shoot me a pm and I'll see if I can convince a couple friends of mine!

with suggestions...

Maybe cut day 1 an hour shorter, or have more planned for the non auto-x people.

Bathrooms, eather porta crapers or something, also label where they are at.

Food on site (i know this was supposed to happen and backed out on but more than hot dogs would be nice.

Shade Tent would not be a bad idea but i surrived without burns.

Maybe stop people as they pull in and have a area for all the cars at the show. so they are not scattered. Put the Zx3/5's near each other, the svts near each other and the such.

I think that is it...

Great event, and it was a blast...Oh and i have 1 of a kind pictures to post up in the pic thread that i do not think anyone else has...hehe
Everything you mentioned was there and dandy. Are you sure you were at the right event?

I haven't seen anyone say it outright yet, so I will, "It got boring." Don't get me wrong, I had a blast, but at one point Saturday, after I had looked at all the cars, and spent some time watching the Auto-X, I got bored. And once everything was done Saturday, I was left wondering what to do. With the sun still up on a Saturday, in a place I'm unfamiliar with, I didn't have a clue as to what to do next. (Yes, I saw the sheet with local "attractions"), but I wanted to see some organized night activities. I ended up stumbling over to the Steak and Shake parking lot when I noticed another member of Team Midwest conversing with local law enforcement, and eventually made my way to a party in the hotel held by somebody, (Carl?). Anyway, like other people said, some kind of organized nighttime activity. I understand that FJ is a family operation, so you may shy away from certain activities, (understandable), but maybe talking to someplace local and working out some kind of arrangement, (like no cover for people wearing JF '05) shirts, to atleast give the night crowd a slight push in the direction of other jetters, instead of an impromptu meet up in the parking lot of Steak and Shake. Oh, and the glow-off/sound-off ideas are good too.

And I did have an awesome time, though I slept on my borrowed blanket from the hotel in the shade of Tire Rack all day Sunday, since TulsaFocus refused to go to bed until we had run dry, which subsequently gave me a bad case of hurty head in the morning. Can't wait till next year.
