Wierd Noise in engine?

When my car is running in the top of the engine where the oil gose. Think ist called the valve cover. Closes to the battery it makes a tap....tap....tap....tap....tap. Just wanted to know if anyone knows what this might be. Thanks for the help In advance

Is it like a click? It could be the fuel injectors normal sound. Check if it is coming directly behind the valve cover.

nope its like right at the top but i can hear it pretty good when I even in my car with the window down. and latly its been gettin louder

You could just be low on oil and/or overdue for an oil change. What's the level & condition of your oil?

its also possible that you have an exhaust leak, maybe the gasket where the manifold meets the head...this can also give you somewhat of a tap, tap, tap sound. Its kind of tough to tell without hearing it in person
