Ive been thinking about upgrading the sway bars on my car, but was wondering, since the SVT already has fair size sway bars on it. Would upgrading to say the H&R ones be worth the money? Or is their little to no gain from these.

Thanks

nick

A lot of people like larger rear bars on their SVT suspension for performance driving. Personally, I found it to be a bad thing. There's definitely a difference, but whether you like it is a matter of personal taste.

Maybe you could talk to some people in your local FJ forum, and see if you can get a ride from someone with big bars installed.

If that is your only suspension upgrade, then I definitely wouldn't mess with it. For better understanding of what bigger swaybars might do for you, read the sticky thread at the top of this forum. The SVT bars are adequate for most setups on Foci, and you'd probably see way more handling improvement by tuning springs dampers, and bushings first. If then you want to fine tune your handling dynamics by messing with the sway bars, then that is the time to do it. AFTER you have everything else done. That is my opinion anyway. Hope this helps.

That's right.
Swaybars are the icing on the cake.
If you think you need a change for some reason, start elsewhere first.
What do you use the car for, and what is it not doing properly for you?

cool thanks guys...right now i have eibach pro-kit springs (on stock struts, plan to change soon as $$$ is there), this is my daily driver that i do tend to get spirited in on the back roads by my house but i was hoping to get into auot-x next year. I think i will hold off on those for awhile and save my money for something else.

DEFINITELY get the dampers first.
THERE'S your problem.
You MAY consider Koni Yellows, or, as a cheaper alternative, GAZ adjustables from www.batinc.net .
KW may have an adjustable alternative as well.
