If you look around, you'll see no one has an avatar here on FJ. We do not allow them. Simply put, it would slow the site down and that is just one more thing for us to have to police and worry about. So no one has them. Has never been a problem really.

You can link to a picture in you're signature, but not display one.

It keeps everything nice and clean

I think thats rediculiously small 100x100?! you can bearly see it. i have it in my profile also my truck looks like a speck

Doesn't this new setup have the availabilty of certain thinjgs to not show up. Therefore the dial uppers can have their super slowness and turn off avatars and what not, and for the people running on decent connections can have avatars appear?

Yeah, I asked the same question before. The answer I got was they are too hard to moderate and will detract from the professionalism of the site.
