YEAH for Scott Speed and STR. The only thing that worries me about his is his many healt conditions. I know he's been racing all his life but with the extra muscle he needs in such a sport as F1 I'm sure its a big issue within the race team.

On a side not...I hate the name Scuderia Toro Rosso, great name for a car but a race team? Too long IMO.

Scott's been working extremely hard with a trainer and is apparently back to being stronger then he was before his health issues.

Probably not yet.

Probably not ever. This team is basically Red Bulls "development team" meaning that they're not going to shell out the $$$$ to get these cars to win... they're there to be seen and develop future drivers.

This team was once Minardi.... and continues in the Minardi/Jordan tradition of being there... but not really being competetive.

They're running a modified RB1 (last year's Red Bull chassis aka the Jag) with the rev limited Cosworth V10. It won't be that competitive. However, Adrian Newey is joining Red Bull (designed Mika Hakkinen's championship winning cars at McLaren and the MP4-20 that dominated last year) and his influence will begin to creep in as next season wears on and they should get quicker, no doubt.

Even then, I doubt they'd have any chance of winning a race in the next few years. As much money as Red Bull has, I don't see them being able to compete neck and neck with the likes of Toyota, Honda, BMW, Renault, McLaren and Ferrari under the current regulations because of the huge budgets those team run. However in 2008 there may be some rule changes that would suit them more or the GPMA might split to make their series like they have been threatening.

But anyways, I'm glad to see Scott Speed in F1 and I'll be rooting for him .

I think the real question is why it's an issue that an American is finally back in F1. I'm with most of you in being fired up about it, don't mis-read me. There should always be a couple Americans in F1 (and years ago there usually was) but when it comes to these world sports (WRC/F1), it's sad how we're not world class. Our Military is about all that keeps us on the BIG map.
In reference to the statement (which sounded largely true) about most people yawning and going back to Nascar, the things the general public in this country are attracted to are about as interesting as that bug zapper in the back yard. Not much more than bugs to a light. Needless to say I'm an F1 and WRC fan.....

When I heard this it irritiated me, but as time went on it sank in, the truth hurts:
Knowing many languages is Multilingual
Knowing 3 languages is being trilingual
Knowing 2 languages is being bilingual
knowing 1 language is being American

Are you sure about that Cosworth motor?

According to their release.... yes, the Red Bull main team is running the new V8 engines, and these guys are running the de-tuned V10s.

And according to RedBullRacing.com, Coulthard, Doornbos and Klein are driving the new Ferrari V8 Engines on the RB2 chassis... meaning the ToroRosso drivers can use the RB1 chassis
