I saw a Peugeot 607 (I think) in Detroit yesterday with NJ mfr. plates.

I just thought that was kind of a random sighting...you don't see Peugeot much.

That is weird.. maybe they are scouting the market again.

The EU Car market has been a dog recently (past 2 years).. it is possible some of the European makes are eyeing the N/A to get some growth going...

And.. And ...Maybe....
oh foget it.. it is good enough we will get the Alfa and have C1 Mazda/Volvo... I should not be asking for more.

I saw one a few months ago too. Was it redish?

I think Ford owns it.
I don't remember, I want to say silver, but I think that's because the model on the website is silver, and I checked that this morning to make sure it was the 607 that I remembered.

It was either a darker red/maroon, or a dark blue, I can't remember for sure.

I snapped a cell phone pic, but I forgot to store it, so I lost it when I closed the flip, doh.

Like a regular folk like me can waltz in and buy a Peugeot in the USA?

If so do you have link or and address? I would love to at least testdrive them ....

FocusonPunk that is weird I saw the exact same car at a Speedway at 7mile and Newburgh in Livonia, same car, silver and all. The front end is what caught my eye as a drove buy. Where did you spot it at?

The europeans are definatly scouting our market. The euro economy is just as much a shell game as our own, only with less wealth being created. Or I should say less wealth spread around.

The europeans (particularly the French) have also taken a huge hit in the Middle East market. Watch the background in the news coverage of Iran, Syria, Iraq, Lebanon etc. you will see lots of French cars.

With all the uncertanty car sales have dropped like a rock in the middle east. This has little effect on US makes because we were never a big part of that market.

Lastly once we have the clean diesel standard in effect the euro marques can flood us with relativly cheap common rail diesels that get near hybrid MPG without needing a new battery right after the warrantee expires.

Wierd. I keep seeing an Alfa Romeo 156 here in Milwaukee. It's red Malboro/Ferrari stickers on the back, the clover leaf above the front fenders and temporary plates. We have place that still services Alfas here in town, and they get grey-market cars in every now and then, and are usually driven by the family that owns the shop.
