I want to put in my new motor this weekend, but I am running into a little difficulty. The guy who was going to help, I can't seem to get a hold of. So, I started thinking....

I know this guy who has a home garage to die for, the one I used when putting on my exhaust. He has a rotary lift, compressor, & basically every tool needed. So, if I can arrange it with hime, would anyone be intersted in giving me a hand? I know I kind of live out in the sticks, far from most everyone, but I will provide coffee & doughnuts in the AM, lunch, and what ever we need after that....

I have never tackled a complete motor swap before, so I would diffinetly need some assistance, expertise. I also know this is on short notice, I apologize for that. Doing it this way I can also save a few bucks to boot. LMK pretty soon if anyone can help. Would like to know if this is possible before I call they guy to see if I can use his garage. Thanks guys.........

Word, I'd call off the lunch plans for this. Let me know when and where Mark!

Okay guys, this Saturday it is. I just got off the phone with the guy w/ the garage & lift & he said no problem. I am an early riser & would like to get started some what early say around 8:00. Would like to think we could do this in 1 day, but I just don't know.

Anyway, he lives in the sticks more than I do in Harwinton. I can either put the address and directions up here or I we can all meet at a covienent location & you can follow me there. LMK what you all want to do. Thanks guys, you are lifesavers!!!

p.s. a fellow 'Jeter is sending me some PDF files from Ford's service manual to aid us in this adventure.....

Might be able to help out, but dont know if there are plans already made by the Mrs... However, it sounds like you may have too many cooks in the kitchen already. Ray knows how to get ahold of me if people fall through.

Its about the same distance from u Ray...

I think it would be easier to go 84 to CT-4. From there its about four back roads, but about 15 minutes shorter than it would taking 291.

15-20 min near uconn.

edit: call jimmy. he's really good.
First of all his address is 135 Birch Hill Rd, Harwinton. The way I would go would be: 84W to Waterbury, then jump on Rt 8 North. From there you are going to get off exit 42, (about 20 minutes from when you get on Rt 8). Take a right at the end of the exit. That puts you on 118/Litchfield road. Take your first right onto Birch Hill Rd, (about 3/4 of mile after getting off the exit). You will go up a pretty steep hill then when you get to the top it turns into a dirt road. His house is the first house on the right after it turns to dirt, (maybe 1/2 mile). You will see a paved driveway. The garage is on the right. It is detached across from the main house. Do you have Jimmy's #? If son PM me with it.

i would help, but i would be as helpful as a wife bringing sandwiches and lemonade (far inferior than all of u mechanics wise)

and no, i will not do that

good luck fellas:thumbup:

Alright guys, sounds like this is going to happen. Like the guy from the A-Team used to say, "I love it when a plan comes together". I am so stoked, I can't wait to get my car back to where she should be. Throw in the new cams & all bets are off! You have no idea how every time I got in my car & heard that terrible, terrible sound coming from my engine has been. Had to drive up to Lowell, MA last Friday afternoon for a work emergency, (yes in that lovely weather), & I was just waiting for my motor to start puking out all of the bottom end on the Mass Pike. Just talked to my Dad & we are probably going to pick up the new motor on Thursday afternoon & bring it up to the garage then. I will keep you all informed if anything comes up, lets hope not......

sorry i didn't get your message... oh wait the other one:lol::p.

so can we make some cool necklaces from your old rods/pistons??

oh and here's a suggestion. TAKE PICS of everything that comes off and where it came from!!! so in case you forget the exact position/ directon etc. you can look back at the pics to make sure you're correct, instead of getting stuck and having to post on here. "where does this piece go??";)
