Don't know if any of you guys are Little League Baseball fans, but I eat, sleep, and breathe anything baseball, my first competitive love, before racing. ;)

Anyways, the Western championship was on ESPN tonight and the Ahwatukee Little League team from Phoenix defeated the team from Fresno, CA 11-3! A kid named Shaun Chase hit THREE home runs in consecutive at-bats, keep in mind these are 6-inning games!!! And there's two twin brothers, Scott and Sam Kingery, that are defensive phenoms! I played second baseman in little league and high school, and those kids are on the BALL. I expect this team to make a LOT of noise in Williamsport, go Phoenix!

lol i am from fresno....

Me and my roomie have been cheering them all of the way. They are playing far beyond their years, and there is little doubt that several of them will see big league contracts in the years to come. A couple of our guys, including ZonaKona, actually live in Ahwatukee.

"It's a small world after all..."

Down here in south chandler we have a baseball machine called the Chandler Nationals. Hats off to Awatukee for beating them this year. :)

The game is on right now, they're entering the 6th inning, AZ ahead 1-0 off of Shaun Chase's home run (in his fourth consecutive at-bat :screwy:), he also has 8 strike-outs in 5 innings of work.

EDIT: Game over, Shaun Chase did it again, scoring the one run off of his HR, and holding Illinois to a 1-hit shut-out with 9 strike-outs in a complete game.

Tough loss today to GA. That Kyle Carter kid irks me. He's got too much talent and he's let it go to his head, interesting to watch his attitude compoared with Shaun Chase who is equally as good, yet Chase is ALWAYS smiling and Carter always has a smug look on his face. Annoying. But he laid it down today, 75+ mph fastballs are UNHEARD of in LL. I was scared of kids that could throw 60+ when I was playing! Time to bounce back and stick it to those yankee kids.

Shucks, AZ was eliminated on a technicality. They won their game today, however, Illinois beat Georgia, so there was a three-way tie in Pool A, with three teams at 2 wins and 1 loss, so the two teams with the lowest runs allowed in their three games advanced, thanks to a couple of shutouts for Illinois and Georgia, they advanced. Good run Arizona! :(
