If you haven't heard/read the infamous saying (especially applicaple to FI/nitrous)

Fast, Cheap, Reliable.......pick 2

Keep your head up. Once you get out of this hole, you will obviously be more careful.

Unbelieveable, did you install the NOS or was it Saleen installed? If it came from Saleen like that you may want to call them.

The Saleen N20 focus comes with the bottle, but no acctual nitrous. It's not hooked up or anything. It's illigal to sell a car with nitrous from the dealership intended for street use.

It's a pretty dick move from Ford. They pretty much give you the full ability to nos your focus, but take no responsibility if you blow it up. Business wise it's genius: appeal to the kids hungry for power, yet not be liable when they **** up their car.

mod edit - dont ****ing bypass the ****ing swear filter ;)

no word on the insurance yet we actually called ford motor company today and after THEY towed he they said they haven't seen it i don't know if the guy we talked to was totally clueless or it wasn't there so we are waiting for them to call us back. LESSON was definetly learned and i am definetly going to get another focus and keep moving foward just slowly more carefully and with more questions and help thanks for everything guys. I agree those pics are definetly something.
I would have taken it home, and completely stripped the nitrous system out. Turned it completely back to stock.

They may find in the end you tried to trick them, but atleast they wouldn't have immediately said it was the nitrous that caused the problem.

I am definately getting the red, flip up covered switches, even for the bottle heater.

I will have everything but a remote bottle opener, which I might not need....but would be cool to be able when you have it on the standby instead of pulling over to open the bottle then chasing a pesky "ricer" down for a race.

Just for the record,
First, a Saleen Focus is not a Ford Focus. It may have been purchased from a Ford dealer, but that is only because that Ford dealer is also a Saleen dealer. Same with Roush vehicles. Warranties on Roush vehicles which are sold by Ford dealers are not covered by Ford, they are covered by Roush.

Second, It appears from the photgraph that the solenoids were wired directly to B+ which means the switch makes the ground circut and opens the solenoid. It also means that if the wire shorts out lets say where it goes through the dash panel, it will open the solenoid.

In all honesty whether the instructions tell you to or not, you should switch the positive side and run a properly sized in-line fuse to avoid this kind of issue. If you get a direct short on the positive side it will just blow the fuse.

In my experience with Nitrous systems it was both fuel and nitrous. The N20 leaking is what caused the RPMs to run up without applying throttle and once there was enough fuel/vapor in the intake manifold it was set off by wasted spark on one of the intake strokes.

that must have looked strange.

me rolling up on a juiced civic. me revving and popping the intake and hearing a giant WHOOOSH. then he revs. throws his hood into his face, and his front bumper into the street,

I would seriously be afraid of that kind of power
LOL Funny **** LOL  although im sorry bout your car bro good luck!
