hocky if you want to field a team as well I may do that instead as I could actually get to your house to help with the car... otherwise, with team MI I shall be

Talking to a member of the purple CRX team yesterday, not only did he confirm the Detroit comp, but he also mentioned there would be a SECOND Altamont comp in the fall! To allow as many of the teams that are asking to come to the Cali summer race a chance.

Also, looking at the math, its probably pretty lucrative. I'm sure they'd have 10 of them across the country every weekend if people would pay.

It costs a lot of money to rent a track and pay for the insurance, but I doubt Lamm is getting poor of the business. And yes, there is going to be another Altamont race, I believe in September.

If you possibly can, I encourage everyone to give it a try at least once. The cost is great, the risk is greater, but the fun and satisfaction you get out of it is immeasurable. I'm one of the Team Captains for Pirate Ninjas and there nothing like it. This is a good chance to see some open wheel racing in a car you built yourself and anything you can do to keep it on the track, do it.

Its something you will never forget.

Wheel to wheel racing...hopefully no open wheel racing (although with all the debris on the track last year, I wouldn't be surprised to see fenders strewn about)

Thats exactly my point, the car will die on or at the track and will lose limbs. Better be prepared to drive a broke ass car wheel to wheel.

We saw top mount radiators, side mount intakes, rubber gloves to keep your gas in if you lose the cap...ect.

We managed to pick up some of that carnage too. It is amazing what a crazy bunch of people will do after a few free beers. We stuck on some bimmer memorabilia to our hatch with electrical tape!!! (oh, and we would have done that without the alcohol...promise)
