was getting diesel for my work truck, and a guy was fueling one up. had dealer plates, and was bright yellow with ugly vinyl graphics. while impressive, i don't understand it's purpose. it didn't have a hitch on it, and the interior was the standard International fare of ill fitting plastic, just with woodgrain decals overlayed. when it pulled away, the bed was buckling and twisting with the bumps

(split up post cuz posting from my phone)... anyways is this supposed to be a competitor of those big F-750 or whatever tow rigs that people use sometimes? seems to me like it's only use would be as a prop in a country music video

Local dealer had one of these on their lot not long ago, but when I went by yesteday it was gone.
This got me confused as:
A)I couldn't understand the purpose of the vehicle
and
b)I couldn't believe someone would actually buy such a vehicle

someone in my neighborhood owns one. I dont think he has ever towed anything with it, but he does drive it to work. I too fail to really understand it. It does however, have a ladder to get into it; which is cool.

i think Ashton Kutcher owns one. we have an International of roughly the same size, i think it's a 4700 or 6700 or something, with a box on the back that houses two rooms with mounted machinery for spray insulation, and from driving that thing there is no way in hell i would ever want a personal vehicle that resembles that.

oh ok so people do tow with them, as Thameth said. in that case i could understand it, it might be a good tow rig for a huge boat or a multi-track car trailer, but like i said this one didn't have a tow package, which made me very perplexed. the guy kept looking at everyone around him like waiting for them to be impressed and ask him questions or something, like how H1 owners act lol

I did a full out audio/video set up in one. The guy owns a junkyard here in So. NH he said basically "A junkyard is predominently a cash business. I need to have something to offset the amount of cash coming in..."
He did a full custom paint job and audio/video set up... the bed has a 42" LCD screen & 8 JL 10" subs..
He uses it as a daily driver & takes it to the annual junkyard conference they have. He said a lot of yard owners have rigs similar, its kind of a who's wee-wee is bigger thing....

International isn't making/marketing it for anything other then being an attention getter.

From their web site:

Watch heads turn. Watch traffic stop. See crowds gather as they lay their eyes on the International CXT. At 9 feet tall and 21 feet long, it's like a billboard on wheels that makes a statement about your brand like nothing else.

That's normal for that type of air suspension. When tractor-trailers take off from a stop you can see the entire cab twist left from the torque and then back during the shift.

+ all those people "in awe"....also wondering how small your package truly is

When I was working out at White Sands, I got a chance to drive one of these around for a few days, thankfully it was tanked up before I took it. I'm just waiting for them to hit the market before some idiot uses them as a daily driver thought. They are cool and have AWD and mulit wheel steering as well as paddle shifters. Too bad they get only 3-4 miles per gallon.

p.s. no the missles were not included in the package.

We sell those kind of trucks at one of our Land Rover Dealers. There Sport Chasis by Freight Liner.

They look alot better than those

From what I know ( I dont handle that crap) but Race teams use the ones that have open beds that can mount a huge trailer (boat racing) and several buy them to tow very large horse trailers.

They only sell 1 or 2 every month at the max.

The ones with a truck bed can tow 47000lbs or somethign like that with the hitch that IS included on the back of the Sport Chasis.

So i dunno. I dont see a point. Unless its hummer Envy.

Any car can be ridiculous.

I see a few CXT's a week out in our area and LA. Two are owned by big horse ranches in the SFV, one in Simi. They tow the big horse trailers to the track and to shows.

My dad's got a buddy at the studio's that uses it for cross country hauling and to haul their extended RV attachment. The CXT has a sleeping compartment on theirs.

You can actually rent them in some cities.
