I had the hella HIP bulbs and they lasted just a little bit longer than silverstars, still I just don't want headlight bulbs I have to change every six months.

I didn't like the way the HIP bulbs looked, and I don't like silverstars that much either, so I was wondering what else would be a good alternative. BATinc has always treated me right, so I was thinking about ordering the bulbs from them.

try Nokya's...great light and the right color (nokya whites)

...or upgrade to ST170s (dual bulb housings, both superior in lighting) OR MACHs (HID and very similar to ST170s in overall lighting)

I used the 100/80's for quite a while in my 2000 ZX3, they hazed the lenses faster than normal and the only other effect wasn't to the wiring, it looked perfectly normal, the holder for the three H4 wires deteriorated and became brittle and came apart......but I repeat, no wiring issue.

As I've reported about a dozen times, I use the Osram Silverstars, not the Silvanias and they last about 5 times (prob more) longer. I used my original set in my 2000 ZX3 for at least 20K (after the 100/80's), then moved them to my current SVT and they lasted until about 2 months ago (75K and another 4 years). Not bad for one set of bulbs that did a lot of night driving.

Holy crap, that's crazy! Where do you find Osram Silverstars, eBay?

I had the same issue with 80/100 bulbs; my bulb connector also deteriorated but the wiring was intact. I just had to connect the 3 wires onto each bulb individually lol

I just searched eBay and found tons of hits for Osram Silverstars. I've been using the Sylvania's and the light output is very nice in the ST170's, but they just don't last. I've had them in since the end of summer and I've gone through a set of lows already and I don't drive much at night. My next set will be Osram's.

I have nothing but positive things to say about the Nokya line, especially the Arctic Whites for headlights and Hyper Yellows for fogs :thumbup:

Very interesting,
I came across a promising Phillips line of lights too

I wish one of our sponsors would carry a nice assortment of quality lightblubs for our cars.

Philips lights aren't bad, and the same can be said about the Osram Silverstars, however when Nokyas are just as high of quality and only cost like 21 bucks a set shipped I can't see a reason to spend at least twice as much for something else :dunno:

I know I've never been let down by them before so let's hope yours are as good as mine

I got my last batch from Demon Tweeks in the UK, I mail order from them a lot. Pleased to hear others have either heard or experienced that the Osrams are good stuff and better than the Sylvanias......
