Things came together right around tax return time for a little daily beater upgrade. I've come to realize I have a little bit of a sickness as I pretty steadily upgraded my old beater during the year that I owned it and when all was said and done it has become a pretty fun car. This is the last update I showed and she still sits in my driveway in exactly this form. We're keeping her around while some upgrades happen to my wife's car but after that she will be up on the auction block. 105k miles and ugly as sin but she is a nice fun daily driver at this point.
Old beater:
Problem is I just can't seem to avoid the little Ford Focus. This new daily driver is another 2003 2.3 ZX3. So we now have 2 Duratecs in the driveway. She has some custom body mods which came with the Salvage Title but all in all I think she is in pretty good shape for being a totalled car.
So this:
+
+
New front lower control arms, passenger inner tie rod, VF rear engine mount, FocusSport exhaust, H & R coilovers, H & R rear bar with poly endlinks, Alpine CDA-9885, various interior hardware to help with the rattles, a black front bumper we had in our rafters (anyone have a good condition twilight blue front bumper?), autolite 104's, and an R/S shift knob.

Beater 2.0:
Good Side
Not so good side
Obviously she's gotten a few mods and there is a bit more work to do still but hopefully I'll hold onto this one for more than a year. She's made a great daily driver for the couple months I've been driving her though and has come a long ways already. A thorough polish from a talented and trusted friend will be happening next weekend which will obviously will not take care of the dents but should result in a lot fewer obvious scrapes and scratches. I'll be sure and share those results
