Who's going to be there?

I know Allan will be.... But any Focus owners? The FWD classes are still pretty wide open right now.

Great Job Guys! Hopefully we'll see you at Laguna Seca to close the year out. I'd like to see Honda/Acura replaced at the top of the podium in Street FWD by a Ford Focus.
I'll be there trying to push the Mazda up the ranks.

how is the classification different?
from what I gather, these two cars would be in the very same class. Front Drive, Front Engine, modified.

Two different series, yes... but had that Cobalt run the Redline event, wouldn't it be the same class?
The Cobalt would have been in Unlimited.

Actually, Craig JUST missed the Modified - FWD record... The current record is:

2:02.728 Brandon Mallough - Civic
Craig turned a 2:02.452...

Craig turned a 2:02.452...
Maybe he turned the 2:02.452 during a practice session.... Those times don't count towards the official records, which must be set during a Time Attack session.

Anyone know what happened to Gillis? Why didn't he compete?
Yeah, they had an engine mishap earlier in the week, so they tossed some clunker head on the car just to show up... Unfortunately it had some sort of ring failure and was unable to continue. Bummer, too, because I think he was doing 2:03s or better with an engine that was supposedly at very low output levels.

I'd have liked to see the full blown animal put down some good laps for sure!

if everything is sorted with the car, yes i was planning on Laguna. im going to
streets in Sept for a track shake down, and if everything goes well, I'll do my
best at Laguna even though ive never driven that track.

Fortunately there's two days of practice before the Time Attack. I'm going to try and get out to a NASA event there October 1st to do a car shakedown and get a feel for the track.

With your brakes, I don't think it will be an issue...

Come to the shakedown day in October.

BTW, I'm gonna talk with my parents about putting people up for either of these events, particularly, the Time Attack, we're only 20-30 minutes north of the track.
