and sence no one is helping me...im just gonna talt to myself. i took it all out...there is soo much crap in it, like 10 feet of passageway for the air. im thinking about just taking out the snorkle and the bottom box(holds the airfilter) but now i need help on how to get the air filter out, im gonnna cut it and fit it around opeining.

there are a couple of options:

1) filter is non-seriviceable, some people take the thing off and put a cone filter on the end for a "stealth cai"

2) if you don't want to go CAI steeda sells a short ram that comes right behind the headlight.

3) go custom and design something that you want, just remember to keep the tube by the afm the same diameter as the stock one or it will throw off the readings and either richen or lean out the mixture (either way bad w/o tuning)

any ideas on #3?
Back in the day when the Duratec first came out, I made my own CAI using already bent 3" aluminum pipe, and then made a MAF adapter from a 2.5" piece of pipe and box section. In the end, it worked, but shortly afterwards, mass-produced ones came out, looked better, and were cheaper.

i just cut a piece of a filter, and taped it over the little grille thing, it sounds better, but i think its getting bogged out, so....ill put the oem intake back in later...im to lazy now...but i did get my clear corners in...

^^ I bet its some form of pipe, maybe with a filter attached to it? lol j/k

I am not about to touch the intake on the 07 yet, it has some weird red yellow and green meter thing on it that I dont know what it does, otherwise I would make an intake for it.

It's all explained here http://www.ineedawebsite.com/BlazingCopperZX3/How Too's.html boys.
The "little green thing is a vacuum gage to tell you that your lifetime air filter is plugged and you need to go to your dealer and spend $400.00 to replace the intake system.
My approach is a little less expensive.
