Is Redline PS fluid available in local stores?

I took the power steering resivour and took off the return line and put a hose barb on the end and had it pump into a drum i keep for oil. And then filled the P/S resivour with a milk jug (redline P/S bottles don't pour quick enough) and then flushed the system while I had someone move the tires back and forth.

The ignition coil?

The do-hickey that sends the spark to the plugs! In the old days, you pulled the coil wire. Now you just pull the harness to the ignitor/coil pack/distributor or what ever it's called.

Bottom line is you don't want the engine to start. Throw a rag in the intake :)

OK, it's the ignition coil harness then.

I just looked up the service manual and it says to disconnect the crankshaft position sensor rather than the ignition coil harness. Can anyone elaborate? (And tell me where the sensor is?)

I sure can... if your car has been running at all its right next to the HOT ASS exhaust. Lol...its literally straight down from the ignition coil harness on the front of the motor pointing in towards the flywheel/torque converter. 2 cavity plug with a wire snap ring holding it in. Easy to get to from the bottom of the car, no need to raise it. (I guess I know where it is and dont even need to look to find it, but you should be able to get to it easily) I would suggest also unplugging the fuel injectors as well, I dont like dumping raw fuel into my cylinders and fuel washing the cylinders and rings down...I believe by disabling crank it will disable fuel after no crank signal is detected but for as quick as I can pop them off I dont worry about it.

So quickly; Crank sensor, straight down on engine block facing in at 45* angle towards transmission/flywheel/torque converter. Very easy to unplug.

Fuel Injectors:Top of motor right in the open

Coil Pack: Top drivers side of engine

Cam shaft sensor: Behind back drivers side of valve cover (Sometimes cam is used to determine engine timing when Crank signal is bad...so unplugging this doesn't hurt either if your disabling your engine.)

I haven't read the manual for my focus, about the type of fluid to use, but I can tell you a sad story of me spending $700 on my 99 Taurus.

My power-steering fluid was low so I bought some PS fluid and poured it in. Then shut the hood and drove across the parking lot where I noticed my PS pump whining. Well in the end I had to replace the PS steering rack ($300) and pay a local Ford dealer, in Hanau, Duetchland, $400 to put the rack in for me.

Yeah people here have noted problems using standard PS fluid, but I'll be using Redline, which as far as I've been able to tell, nobody has had problems with.

Thanks COSVT03... I was wondering if letting the cylinders get sprayed with unburnt fuel would be a problem, and this sounds like the right way to go.

I pulled the fuel pump fuse. Even easier! LOL

In case anyone wasn't sure, the smaller bottom hose is the return line.

Yeah just pull fuse 12 in the engine bay fuse box.
