What will it take to build a 200 whp 2.0L Focus?

I'm a noob when it comes to tuning engines but I have some basic knowledge when it comes to cars.

So what do I need to get my 200 whp goal for my 2.0L Duratec?

CAI
Exhaust system
what else????

Ditch the CAI and go turbo. Most cars I've seen dyno sheets for will run 200WHP with the FS Stage 2 kit, a 2.5" exhaust and either a stock or hi-flow cat.

Turbo= easiest
If you wanted just 200whp it would even not wreak havoc on your car so it would be less maintenance. Though I somehow doubt you'll let it stay there.

Ditch the CAI? I'm curious, why would you want to ditch it? Not enough gains to justify the price/install?

Anyway turbo sounds good. I could go with FS Stage 2 kit and a 2.25" exhaust system from FocusSport. I wouldn't install them myself though.

Any other inputs?

get bigger than 2.25in exhaust if you are going turbo. 2.5in minimum, 3in preferred.

2.5" is fine for FS's kit. But you can get 3" if you want.

Turbo kits are all about unrestrictive exhausts. 3" is good, but the FS downpipe is ~2.5" anyway. For the most power, leave the exhaust free of restrictions such as mufflers :)

Even so, I have a cat and muffler in my exhaust to keep noise and emissions down - the car's still fast!

On a side note, FS's turbo kit is a great package, very comprehensive. It seems very expensive, and it is, but you get A LOT for your money :thumbup:

STG 2 FS turbo kit on a d2.0 will only make 200 at the wheels????

anyone have dyno numbers. I cant justify almost $4K without install for 70 hp

more than 70, the car is only 120-130 at the crank, closer to 85. and thats a ton of power on a 4cyl. name any other way to get that kind of power w/o spending that much.

Keep in mind the 130ish hp that the 2.0L is rated at, is at the crank not the wheels. So it is probably more like 80-90hp (I believe)

maybe. I wish someone close to me in NY had the kit so I could get a test ride.

My friend's 2.0 made like 223hp and 240 tq at the wheels with 2.5" exhaust.

my car completly stock made 112whp and 118wtq. Now with the
FS stage 2 turbo kit, it makes 221whp and 220wtq with a 2.5inch
exhaust at 11psi boost pressure.
