And is the FSVT rad the same as the non-SVT? There are mumblings at CEG that the Focus radiator *might* be compatible with the Contour. I'd like to take some measurements of one to see if that's indeed true.

The CSVT radiator has been discontinued for about a year now. Mine is beat up and I should probably replace it, but I'd really like to get a larger one. I know there are several aftermarket rads for the Foci... if they don't fit the Contour, Griffin offered to manufacture some. I just can't afford the prototype (~$500 for the proto; ~$300 in a group buy).

i'm pretty sure the SVT one is alittle larger. but don't quote meo n that. try asking over in the zetec forums or SVT forums, they might have more info for ya.

I'm pretty sure the CSVT radiator is thicker than the FSVT radiator. The Fluidyne rad for you guys is barely thicker than the CSVT one. I guess the first thing I'm after is the distance between the upper posts, the lower posts, and the width/height of the Focus radiator. If the posts don't match up to the Contour one, then I can just end my quest now.

If anyone could just measure the top posts, that would be cool... and easy :). The bottom posts too, but I know that's a little more involved. Thanks!

It's no help but when I replaced my perfectly good functional radiator with a Fluidyne one, I told the dweebs to keep my old one but the monkeys destroyed it after removing it without damaging it..........by throwing it into a scrap pile.......

Luck on those dimensions.......

Kind of off-topic... but do you have a real coolant temp gauge? I'm curious about the mid-summer differences between your Fluidyne and the stock one.

A larger radiator is the last thing I can do to reduce my temps (pretty much done everything else already). One problem is that the hood latch is close to the rad and would only allow for a 3/8" thicker core. If I were to get hood pins, I could get a 1-1/8" - 1-1/4" thicker core.

i'll try to take some measurements for you tomorrow when i'm changing my oil and puttingmy splitter back on.
