I jsut installed my KW Variant 1's with LCR Racing plates and now my car has a very strange rattle. I can figure out for the life of me what is hitting what. It sounds like a metal on metal loose rattle when I hit bumps. I checked the top of the LCR plates to make sure the collets fit properly and everything is ok there. I have the coilovers down the entire way. What I am thinking is that it may be the sway bar. I recently put aftermarket endlinks that were a bit longer than the OEM ones. Since they were longer, do you think that this would cause the swaybar to rub something underneath with the lower drop??? Thoughts?

OK now a new noise. I think it is coming from the original noise. Maybe not, I really dont have a ****ing clue now. When I drive, something is rubbing everytime the wheel makes a full rotation. The fast I go, the faster the rubbing noise is. WTH could it be???

I was going to tear into my car yet again but it is starting to rain.

front of car or rear of car?

wheel bearings? When my wheel bearings went it was pretty unexpected. I heard metal on metal rattling, dragging noises, and metal rubbing noises. That was rear bearings on an SE...

It is coming front the front. Now that you cay that, I bet the wheel bearing is going. It just seems wierd that it just started when I changed the suspension.

I think the beginning of Saturday's install day is going to consist of driving our cars around to figure out what the ****'s making noise on them

I am officially an idiot... My lugs were really loose. Here I am getting ready to change a wheel bearing and all I had to do was tighten the damn wheel down. I tightend the top strut nuts again and the original sound went away too. Dammit! I seriously lost sleep over this. Ha-ha. Everything is working like a charm now. Just need to get it aligned.

Thanks!

Oh wow! How simple of a fix was that??? Glad it was an easy fix for you Shawn, and that you didn't need to tear into it again to replace the wheel bearing.

Well all of my lugnuts are super tight and I don't have the right size socket (nor do I own any deepwells :() to adjust the nut on the strut itself, but I did pinpoint that my noise (very similar to Shawn's in sound) occurs when A) you push down on the passenger front of the car when the strut compresses and B) that sound mixed with what sounds like squeaky brakes when the brake pedal is applied and the stop approach is rough pavement. Rattletrap strikes again to make a possibly-easy fix difficult

dude it happened to me when I did my suspension too

funniest part was the guy who was helping me said he did the same thing to his car when he did his suspension. He goes, "you know, its funny. You spend all the time torquing the nuts correctly, lining things up, getting it all right, and then forget something stupid like tightening your lug nuts all the way down"

 The thing is though, that the lugs were acutally torqued down really well. One thing I am thinking is that someone was pissing around with my car, trying to snake the wheels. :( I have a locking lug set but you can get the locking lug set at Advance autoparts. You can't get a regular jack under my car so maybe they were trying to loosen the wheels, jack it up ( then realizing the jack doesnt fit under ), then just abandoned the hiest.

Don't worry Brian, we will fix her. You can change the nickname from Rattletrap to Crushedtrap.

Wow, not only am I throwing money at my car left and right lately, but she's gonna get an identity crisis from all of the name changes. First Maliblue, then Rattletrap, now Raketrap, and soon-to-be Crushedtrap :lol::lol:

My jack fits under your car just fine, and I think your Hurrys would look STELLAR on Rattletrap :banana::evilgrin::banana:

If we get extra time on Saturday I'm totally down for that ;):D And don't get too excited, Rattletrap's still gonna be rocking her US/EDM hybrid front end for an indefinite amount of time until I find a deal on a '98 EDM front clip :dunno:

Well my car creaks at slow speed with my KW V1's and I have no idea what it is. Its sure not my lugs tho, with several track days I take 'emm off and torque 'em back so there's no chance they are loose.
