Ya lol thanks guys for all the info i really didnt wanna swap a whole entire motor but i was driving and i saw a smashed svt on the back of a tow truck and i was like i bet i could get that motor for pretty cheap

the main thing i was goin for was the 6 speed cuz i do rally the thing on local events like at moroso motorsports park near naples FL they have fwd days then mixed days and sometimes ill whoop up on a couple 02 sti's but to have the acceleration of the 6 spd would be nice i have a freind with a zts sedan that tried the 6spd swap but couldnt because they didnt line up right so he ended up wasting about 150 for all the stuff again out of a smashed svt he owns the exorcist focus you can look him up he was featured on a magazine or two

I did do some further research on a guy that did get the 6spd to bolt up on his zetec though like here http://www.focusfanatics.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=53374

thank you for helping im not one that knows much about the svt's so it was kinda new ground for me i never really ventered out of the normal zetec's

thanks guys and here is the pic I couldnt get to work earlier thanks for the warm welcome to focal jet and again please bare my horrible grammer

my focus buddy has done it on his sedan.....he doesn't live that far from me.....it took him 4 months he said...but he did it as a part time project, like after work or whenever he had time
I saw the car in person and it looked so nice
his car pulls really nice and he's really happy with the swap

the engine and tranny he got for a $1000cad

found a couple shots of his car, no engine bay pics

but these are from last year and he put some new stuff on his car...like svt front bumper and did something with the good

The number of gears the transmission has does not determine acceleration. Final drive the actual gear ratios and of course tq and hp as well. if you switch to the SVT transmission you will have worse acceleration than the stock MTX-75. The Svt getrag has very tall gears.

So if you want better acceleration spend your money somewhere else or get a shorter final drive for the transmission you already have.

Ford Racing sells a 4.06 final drive for the MTX 75 for a pretty low price however the labor to have them installed is immense, and if you are already cracking the transmission open for a gear install you might as well put a limited slip in as well which is another $600 or so plus a bit more labor.

he actually got it done at the buddy's shop....he was goona trade that hood for my stock one.....i really wanted it cuz i have Volant.....but when i posted it on the local "race-boy" site i got nothing but negative feedbacks.....so i never ended up swapping :(

i know but i always thought the getrag had shorter gear ratios guess not in response to sleeperlove

ya I im just gonna do that there Is a actual garage up here that sponsors me so we have been looking and we found a guy producing a focus awd kit that is made up oddly enough of a jaguar s-type driveshaft and a ford ranger diff and we are thinking about that soppusedly he has alot of good feedback so ya it would be nice to get into the competition with the subys and the celicas lol awd focus rally car in palm coast florida??? omg i am awd I will have to get back to you guys with some pics and what not i use to rally a old suby xt awd 2.0 on 12 psi but I messed that up we used to use a misfiring system and we didnt replace the turbo in time and i fried the turbo coming outa a turn then went into another and breaked while giving it gas and when I needed the boost to come it didnt so i tried to downshift to just try to dig into the dirt but b4 i could clucth out i flew off the track and wraped the car around a tree it was the scairiest thing ive ever seen in my life ive have never had a tree come at me at 70 mph before

That owner is the FocusSalvage.com owner. He has those parts available if u want to do it. Just get ahold of him. He was also the same one that put a Cougar V6, and SHO engines in the Focus. Call him up or PM him and find out what he can help u with.

Hey Nick thanks for posting picks - I will post some on sunday I'm washing the car so I can post some engine shots for everyone.

If anyone has questions about the swap let me know I'm more then happy to help..;)
Cheers,

There is NO functioning AWD kit for the ford focus, nor has there ever been one except on the WRC cars which share about as much with a production focus as a M5 does. If it where to be any way related to a focus any AWD system the Jaguar X type would be its closest match, yet there still lacks the ability to make the car AWD. Id be extremely scetch about what promises of AWD goodness some one can do. No one sence the focus has been out for almost 10 years now, has made one awd.

Also an SVT focus is a very peaky engine and the 6 speed as every one said has taller gears. If you plan on doing your rallys at moroso, they are simply points events and not cash backed, its mainly for fun and driving skill improvement. The also you wouldnt ever be in a class with any AWD cars as you are FWD. Also for rally an SVT'ized sedan may not be the best idea, as the ground clearnace would help alot of the stock focus spring, as well as the fact that the SVT focus's getrag tranny has an annoying and advanced traction control system that kills power when the wheels slip, if you got a tranny/engine/ecu with this programming its hard to defeat.

Spending 1500+ dollars on the engine swap as well as all the time youd be without a daily driver isnt worth the benifit. If you want to compete with AWD cars, buy one many a subaru or audi can be had for cheap in AWD many with turbos.

If Ford were to have ever commissioned an SVT sedan......I couldn't imagine it looking much different than this.....it is quite nearly perfect
